PAY IT FOWARD 🚑 HELP SAVE LIVES LIKE SNOW & MINNIE & TAZ 🚑

Our Emergency Medical Fund is hard at work this week — and we need your help to keep it going.

🐾 Meet Snow

We were called to help Snow when he was found in critical condition and the local shelter couldn’t take him. He arrived with severe mange, painful skin infections, a heavy flea load, overgrown nails, and later tested Lyme positive.
Thanks to fast action and our vet partners, Snow is finally safe — resting, eating, and showing us what a sweet, grateful boy he truly is. He is healing in a foster home. His care has already exceeded $875 and he’ll need ongoing treatment, medicated baths, and medication to fully heal.

🐾 Meet Minnie

Minnie, a frosty faced senior girl, was pulled from a rural shelter the day before Thanksgiving. She’ll need a dental, further testing/imaging, and surgery to remove a mammary tumor. She is also already receiving treatment for Lyme disease. Despite everything, she is full of sparkle — enjoying her foster home, squirrel-watching, playing with stuffed toys, and snuggling on a soft couch. Her medical care is expected to be at least $850.

🐾 Meet Taz

Taz was abandoned by his owners to living outside. He's matted and older. Today he is going to the vet to be sedated so he can have a medical shave down. We don't know what is going on under all those layers of old coat. He's going to be neutered get his shots updated and have a much-needed overall checkup and dental. His medical costs is expected to be at least $900
These three lives — and many more — are only saved because our Emergency Medical Fund exists. ❤️
If you’re able, please consider donating to support their care and future rescues

🎉 What a Day at the Winter Festival! 🎉
Thank you to all the vendors and Sheri from Keshlyn Kennel for helping with Grinch. Everyone had so much fun !!!!
Oh, what a day, with joy and delight,
The Grinch dressed up and spread holiday light!
At the Winter Festival, oh what a sight,
With pups all around, everything felt just right!

He posed for some photos, with tails wagging fast,
Meeting new friends, making memories that last!
Several dogs found their forever homes today,
Thanks to Paws 4 the Cause, hip-hip-hooray!

Our Grinch had a blast, with laughter and cheer,
And he’s excited to see his new friends while he’s here!
For the next month at Keshlyn, he’ll stay and play,
Bringing joy to the pups in his own silly way! 🐶❤️🎄🎅🐾

Important information for pet owners.
We have had many reports now that there have been distemper & parvo outbreaks in many rural shelters around our areas. Over 14 dogs from one shelter alone have passed away. This problem is happening in Kentucky.

A local vet in Floyd County also reports of rabies in family pets per their facebook post:

"Rabies Positive!!
On November 5, 2025, a puppy in Pulaski County was confirmed to have rabies. The puppy exposed several people in the family and in veterinary clinics. Everyone identified as having contact with the puppy is receiving post-exposure shots, which are very effective at preventing rabies.

Rabies is endemic in Kentucky in skunks and bats. As of November 12, Kentucky has had 27 cases of animal rabies in 2025. Three of these cases were in domestic animals: two dogs and one horse. When unvaccinated pets come in contact with rabid animals, they can come down with rabies and expose people. The rabies vaccine provides excellent protection for both pets and livestock. Remember, we protect our pets to protect our families!"

"All dogs and cats should be vaccinated for rabies to protect them and you! Rabies is fatal. Vaccination is quick and easy and safe. Vaccines in your family pet keeps them safe and healthy."

Right now it is so important to have your pet up to date on vaccines. Kentucky has not seen the number of cases like this in many years. It is happening now because many are not vaccinating their pets and it is costing lives.

Please Share this information. It can save lives and heartbreak to families.

Our Story

Most donations go directly to pay for food and medical needs for homeless and injured animals, and to help other organizations who participate in our mission. We also earmark funds for free service dogs for veterans and our new spay/neuter clinic. All current administrative, office, feed and medical costs for "in-house" animals are paid for through independent fundraisers!
