Not to be out done by the others, at exactly 4 months old Bonnie went into the 4-6 month old Beginner Puppy Group and was awarded a Group 2 placement.

The following weekend she said hold my puppy teeth (she’s currently loosing them) and was awarded back to back Best In Puppy Shows for the 4-6 month old Beginner Puppy class. She was also awarded a Group 3 & 4.

Together with Kobushi Shiba, we are very excited for Bonnie and what the future holds for her!

In only her second time at a show in the regular classes, Zephyr went Reserve Winners B*tch three times to a 5 point major. She was also awarded Best of Opposite S*x in the Puppy Sweeps at the Ohio River Basin Shiba Inu Fanciers Specialty.

She continued to strut her stuff and make all of us at Ikigai Inu, Absolute Shiba Inu, & Hariko Nihonken 日本犬張子 very proud the following weekend showing beautifully despite also dealing with her first heat. Shiba Inu National here we come!!!

Introducing Kobushi 'N Ikigai Lupinus Texensis “Bonnie”

A little bit about her name Lupinus Texensis is the scientific name for a Bluebonnet (state flower of Texas) and Bonnie is an homage to Katai Shiba Inu who laid the foundation for this litter. Many thanks to Kobushi Shiba for…well everything.

Wow looks like Ikigai Inu is way over due for an update, you could say I’ve been distracted (iykyk). Since October 2025 Stark has continued to strut his stuff in the show ring. See his photo for all his accolades.

Back in May we welcomed Absolute Southern Breeze at Ikigai “Zephyr” to the family. Zephyr started showing in BPup in July and is already proving she is a rockstar. She is co-owned by me, Hariko Nihonken 日本犬張子 & Absolute Shiba Inu. See her photo for all her accolades.

Exciting news! This morning Kobushi Shiba and Ikigai Inu welcomed Ikigai’s first litter (and our first bred-by litter) into the world. After an early morning visit to the ER vet (thankfully not a C Section. The vet was able to ease the first puppy out) Mama Saphira gave birth to 2 red girls, 1 sesame boy, and 1 black & tan boy. Both mom and puppies are all doing well. To say we are beyond thrilled and excited about this litter is an understatement.

Many, many thanks to Kobushi for whelping the litter and making this possible. Please send all puppy inquires to Kobushi.
