The boys had to pull Phoebe in her bed outside to go potty.

I don’t wake up dogs while they are napping, this one is out cold. I opened her kennel door and walked in, took a few minutes for her eyes to open.

Wahoo!!!

It’s International Left Handers Day -

It’s been said that only 10% of the human population are left handed. I watch my customers fill out their checks, there are a lot of lefties that board their dogs here.

Axel did a couple tests on Sawyer to see which is his dominate paw. Sawyer was a great sport when given a treat in a Kong to see what paw he secured the toy with…left paw!

Then Axel did the tape on his nose test to see which paw he used to remove the tape. Again…left paw!

Axel has deducted that Sawyer is a left pawed dog. No need for more research on Sawyer.

It’s Spoil Your Dog Day, but you do that everyday. So I’m honoring Melon Day today.

Axel took a watermelon out with Reese for afternoon turnout. It was straight from the refrigerator so it was nice and cold!

Did you know fruits are a great treat for dogs?

Especially on hot days like this.

Honeydew, Cantaloupe, and watermelon chilled are refreshing treats to help cool down from the heat. They are high in water and fiber.

Just make sure the seeds are removed and you offer melon pieces in moderation.

National Book Lovers Day -

So, grab a new book, maybe even a genre you usually don’t read, or pick up a book you’ve read before and read it again. If you would rather listen to an E book, do that.

The boys took a book outside with Misty to plan a trip sonewhere this fall. They have the Guide to the National Park Areas - Western States, the boys like history and outdoor activities.

They are interested in Big Hole National Battlefield in Montana. On 9 Aug 1877, there was a battle between the U.S. Army soldiers and the Nez Perce encampment.

In honor of Service/Assistance Dog Day -

Since Kel had a little accident to his leg the other day, Teagan is assisting him with turning the dogs out this afternoon.

Service/Assistant dogs help humans that have with disabilities, physical or mental, and those with illnesses perform simple daily tasks.

Service/Assistant dogs are trained to retrieve items, help with guiding the visually impaired, and help with the onset of seizures to name a few.

The difference between Service/Assistance dogs (psychiatric service dog) & emotional support dogs are the service dogs are trained to help those with a disability, while emotional support dogs give comfort by its presence.

It’s Clean Your Floors Day!

Be honest, do you clean your floors everyday?
If you straighten the area rugs so no one trips, pick up toys from your pets, sweep and/or vacuum, then you clean your floors everyday.

Axel had floor duty this morning, he jumped on a couple dog tails and swept the floor. 😆

Then grabbed the vacuum and finished the day with Rascal’s help…damn boys always playing around when they should be working.

Cleaning floors in the kennel isn’t a daily duty, it’s an hourly duty.

National Lipstick Day -

Axel is sending Pippa home in sexy style. Red lipstick for the ride home. 👄

Lipstick has been worn for many, many years. Ancient Sumerians used crushed gemstones, ancient Chinese used beeswax, and berries were used by the ancient Greeks to add colour to their lips.

The 1st commercial lipstick was made in 1884 from deer fallow, castor oil, and beeswax in France.

Originally lipstick started out red, now you can grab a stick of almost any colour in the box. There are many different shades of red, pinks, blue, green, and other colours.

Add some colour to your lips today and go ahead and put some on your dog too. 😆 If you do, share a photo. Let’s see those pretty puppy lips.
