If you saw yesterday, Pippa was furious at all the loose hair the labs are blowing around the kennels. (Imagine sweeping and picking up hair everytime you walk in and around the kennels.)

Pippa told Lily, yellow lab boarded next to Pippa, that she needed to keep the loose hair under control. Or there would be issues that affect Lily and her 2 housemates.

This is what happened overnight! Pippa was covered in loose hair because Lily pushed it all into Pippa’s kennel.

There were some harsh words during the early morning hours today, Pippa told Lily she would release photos that Pippa had on Lily. I’m not sure what those photos are, but Pippa thinks she’s got the upper paw on this.

Pippa has asked that she and her housemate have the right to move to a different kennel. Somewhere far away from the yellow labs.

Axel was on turn out duty this afternoon. He was out with 2 sets of dogs, 3 yellow labs in the big yard & 2 terriers in the small yard next to the labs.

As I was in the kitchen, Axel ran in, grabbed his camera and turned to run back outside…I told him to STOP! and tell me what was going on.

He turned around, took a big breath and said, “Something is going down in the yards between Lily & Pippa!” Pippa is telling Lily she’s tired of all the lab hair in her kennel and it’s getting all over her dog bed. (Lily is kenneled next to Pippa.) Pippa is pretty upset.

So, before the labs came back in, Axel put Pippa in her kennel and waited to see what was going to happen.

The kennels are soo excited!

Well, for now. 😆

Those of you who have been around for years, you know what’s coming this week.

This is Pippa, she is a Border Terrier and her very 1st visit for boarding was exactly 10 years ago. She was just a smartass little pup that got into trouble the day she arrived.

Pippa tore the bedding tags off dog beds and was arrested because it says on the tags…and you’ve seen them yourself! Bedding tags say, ‘Under penalty of law these tags not to be removed except by the consumer.’ Pippa had her 1st juvenile court hearing and was found guilty. She spent time in juvie hall (kennels) and was released to her probation officer.

For the last 10 years, Prisoner Pippa has been coming almost every year and each time she boarded she was caught doing something illegal. Just a couple infractions on the books are 1.) Prostitution and 2.) Money Laundering.

Can’t wait to see if she has matured to keep this visit out of the court system.

It’s World Emoji Day -

I told the boys to grab whatever emoji showed their feelings when they took Captain outside to play today. Cap even grabbed an emoji ball too.

The 1st emoji was created by Japanese artist Shigetaka Kurita in 1999.

Now days social media pages and texts are always using emojis like 😆, 😡, 😳, 👍🏼, and 🤨. For the most part, you know what each emoji means, but beware some cute little emojis have other meanings. 🫣.

In 2015, the Oxford Dictionary’s Word of the Year was “😂” emoji.

Emojis are the best way to express emotions or words you can’t type.

In honor of Personal Chef Day -

Rascal is the resident chef at the kennels. He has been the nutrionist here for years and loves putting the dog’s meals together.

All the dogs bring their food, whether it’s kibble, processed, or homemade. Rascal makes sure all the meals are prepared properly for each dog.

So, a shout out to all of you! You are your dog’s personal chef.

I want to thank those of you who have left monetary donations in the donation jar this spring. You know the kennel usually donates local, but after this week of flooding in Central Texas, I decided to send a monetary donation of 1,000 dollars to a group called Kerrville Pets Alive!, they have been out all week, looking, searching, rescuing, and housing animals that were displaced by the flooding.

They have taken in many dogs/cats and work at locating the owners, or family members of the owners. They also do any needed procedures any hurt animal would need to recover.

In honor of International Kissing Day -

Axel was out with Daisy & Thor. He asked Daisy for a quick peck for Kissing Day. She went in for a quick peck but it turned into a full blown French kiss. 😝

After that, Thor was not happy that Daisy kissed another male.

Use today as a good reason to share a kiss with someone you care about.

In honor of National Bikini Day -

Axel made a mankini, Rascal grabbed a pair of panties, and Phillip is sporting a black bikini. 🤣

Today is the day to wear a bikini, go to the pool, or head to the beach. I got this beach photo last week from a customer in the Bahamas. Kinda makes you want to put on a bathing suit and just relax at the water.

Any dogs out there that wear bikinis?

We all look in the mirror everyday. We don’t see what we should. So today is the day to do just that!

Daisy & Axel are complimenting the mirror they took outside this morning.

Axel is a ham as it is, so he said, “Hey there handsome! Here’s a kiss for you.”

Daisy on the other hand, looked at the mirror and thought her toe nails would be pretty if she got them painted.

When you look in the mirror today, see how special you are. See what you have to offer.

Nevermind the wrinkles, frown lines, hair color, things you find that aren’t attractive to you…take a minute to see what other people see in you.

When people tell you your good traits, those are the things you should see about yourself.
