In honor of National Double Cheeseburger Day -

The boys were so excited to take Khroga outside for playtime! They grabbed the plushy hamburger and wanted to have a shot with Khroga to celebrate double cheeseburger day…

It didn’t go as planned. 🫣

Khroga took the cheeseburger from the boys after threatening to take the boys for a run!

Khroga ran around the yard with the cheeseburger until he saw a calf. 😳. He stopped in his tracks, dropped the cheeseburger and stared at the calf.

While Khroga was staring at the calf, the boys had time to get to a safe place. 😝

Even though it’s not a yearly birthday, today is Khroga’s 4 month days old day. 🥳

Holidays are right around the corner!

The boys started pulling the Halloween decor out today. 😍 Can’t wait to see how it all looks once they are finished. They have to start this early because they can only set up the decor in between taking care of the dogs.

So, for that matter, I need to let you know that both Thanksgiving & Christmas holidays are already booked for boarding.

And, those of you who know about the Thanksgiving Dinner collection, it will be starting soon. We collect monies for families in the local area that need help purchasing Thanksgiving dinner items. Last year, I think, we ended up serving 20+ families. So, I’ll get a post for the dinners going soon.

It’s National Pet Rock Day!

Depending on your generation, you may have had a pet rock when you were younger.

They were great! Low maintenance, cheap as dirt, never had an attitude, you could leave them naked or paint them, and you didn’t have to worry if you left it out in the weather.

Axel and Chun Li wanted to share their rocks with you today.

Apparently, by the answer to a text I got a few days ago, Chun Li has pet rocks at home! She loves them. She’s had one for 6+ years.

Next time Chun Li boards, she’ll have to bring her rocks with her.

In honor of National Ginger Cat Appreciation Day

On 5 May, my husband, Mark, found an orange kitten at the field office of his work. Mark kept the orange kitty at work for a couple days and decided to bring him home for the weekend. I put a cat condo up and the orange kitty stayed in the kitchen of the kennel for safe keeping. Intending to send him back to work with Mark the following Monday.

So, I’d like to introduce you to ‘Cinco’.

As time rolled on, the orange kitty pretty much slid right in with the other cats that live at the kennel.

Cinco has tried out for many jobs at the kennel but his favorite job is greeting & sharing love with the customers.

So, Buddy the yellow lab, carries his bowl around after each meal.

He gets less kibble than his housemate, Konner, but that doesn’t stop him from asking for more kibble.

Buddy tells Konner that his bowl is empty, could he borrow some kibble from Konner?

It’s National Rainbow Bridge Remberance Day

Today is the day to honor our pets that have passed away. No matter if they passed recently or many years ago. There is always a memory you carry or a story you always tell.

Today allows you to let your feelings be known. Whether you do this by yourself or with
family/friends that have lost pets too.

These paw prints with names on them are previously boarded dogs that have passed away. I started doing this many years ago. It’s always nice to help customers find their dog’s names and see what they do. A lot of them will put their hand on the paw print, some will blow a kiss, a few put their hand on their heart, and others just tell me how special the dog was and how special seeing the paw print with their dog’s name is.

Remember and celebrate the pets that have passed away, not just dogs, but all pets.

Share a photo or 2 of a pet that’s passed away if you’d like. There are many people that feel the loss of a pet.

The boys had to pull Phoebe in her bed outside to go potty.

I don’t wake up dogs while they are napping, this one is out cold. I opened her kennel door and walked in, took a few minutes for her eyes to open.

She woke up when she smelled me.

Another birthday girl!

Ozzie is celebrating 3 years today.

You may not know her, but she is one big, short Princess! She didn’t want to wear the birthday head piece. She wanted to wear the pink crown. And, that’s all you need to know about this big, little girl.
