What a GREAT day at Daisy’s Dog House opening! 💗🐾

We brought along two very special SCAR residents our sweet senior girl Bingo and Charlie, our CH puppy! They got TONS of love, made new friends, enjoyed some ice cream, and had the absolute best time!

But the BEST part of the day?! Bingo found her forever home RIGHT HERE at Daisy’s Dog House!

After spending so much time waiting for her family, we couldn’t be more excited to see Bingo begin this next chapter. We KNOW she is going to be spoiled rotten and live the BEST life!

Happy Tails, sweet Bingo!🧡You deserve every bit of this happy ending!

Freddy’s face is MUCH, MUCH better!! Most, if not all, of his scabs have finally cleared, and now it’s time for that bare skin to heal and for this sweet boy to grow some hair back! 🥰

And the best part?! Freddy has his S***K back! He is super active, feeling good, and TOTALLY ready to be done with that cone!

Watching this boy go from being in such horrible condition to acting like his goofy, happy self again has been absolutely incredible.

Thank you, from the very bottom of our hearts, for helping us save Freddy. ❤️ Every donation, share, prayer, kind message, and helping hand made a difference in his journey.

We couldn’t have done this without you. Freddy got his second chance.

Rescue doesn’t stop just because it’s nighttime. 💔🐾

This sweet boy was picked up by one of our board members after being found laying in a ditch, eating out of a Dollar General bag full of trash.

When he saw us, he came straight over and laid his head in our arms like he was saying, “Finally… I’m safe.”

He is extremely skinny and definitely infested with intestinal parasites. He somehow made it through yesterday’s storms and still found his way to us.

Tonight, he’s settled in right next to his new friend Freddy. Freddy has apparently taken it upon himself to give him the full orientation on how things work around here. 🤣

Now that he’s safe, we have work to do. He needs puppy food, vaccines, and lots of wormer to get him healthy and strong.

We can not thank yall enough for everything yall are doing for Freddy!!!🙌🏼 we could not be more proud of our girls who spoke for him!!

Less than a week ago, a four-legged Jones County resident was in need of serious medical attention, and the entire community stepped up.

“A really kind man brought him in, and we’re not sure exactly how he got the burns on his face, but we think he maybe got into a car accident and got road rash,” said Catherine Crotwell, Kennel Technician at Southern Cross Animal Rescue.

Freddy is doing GREAT this morning! 🥹 His face is looking better and better every single day, and we couldn’t be more proud of this sweet boy.

A HUGE shoutout to everyone who has helped Freddy get through this journey, and especially to our amazing staff who have been loving on him, caring for him, and making sure he stays clean and comfortable. ❤️

Everyone show our Freddy some LOVE! He deserves all of it!

We are desperately in need of new beds for our dogs! We do everything we can to keep our babies comfortable, and after years of love, many of our beds are officially VERY well loved. 😂

We’re looking for medium to large elevated cots the metal or plastic-style beds that can be scrubbed down with soap and disinfected as needed. These are perfect for the shelter because they’re durable, keep our pups off the floor, and are much easier to keep clean. 🛏️🐾

Most run around $20–$35 each, and we need several!

We are also VERY low on bleach! 🧴 We use it every day as part of our cleaning routine to help keep our animals’ spaces clean, healthy, and safe.

If you can donate a bed, a bottle of bleach, or even $5 toward one, it truly helps. Every little bit adds up to a cleaner, comfier shelter for our babies. ❤️

Ellen Deserves Her Happy Ending 🤍

Ellen was surrendered back to us through NO fault of her own. She is a genuine angel who just can’t seem to catch a break. 💔

When Ellen first came to us, she was skinny, had puppies everywhere, and was heartworm negative. When she was returned, she was tested TWICE that very day and still tested negative—a hard negative. At that time, the heartworms were still in the microfilaria (baby heartworm) stage and weren’t detectable yet. Since then, they have developed into adult heartworms.

Because of this, Ellen missed her chance to head North and find the perfect home. So once again, she finds herself back at the shelter.

But today, she got a little taste of the life she deserves! She went on a fishing trip and absolutely loved it. She saw plenty of catfish… just thankfully not too close! 😂 She enjoyed some much-needed time outside, being included and loved.

And honestly, that’s Ellen’s favorite thing—being included. She walks beautifully on a leash, loves her people, and is just as happy cuddling as she is going on an adventure.

✨ Even better: Ellen’s heartworm treatment is ALREADY PAID FOR! ✨

Good Morning SCAR Tribe - wanted to let everyone see Freddy today, He was cold this morning and shaking so he is now rocking his new sweater. He has been a sweet guy considering what he has been thru. Freddy had a owner at some point. He knows commands. He slept about 90 percent of the day yesterday poor guy was so exhausted. Vet believes his fur will come back in also. His legs have places on them too but they will heal too.

Freddy has officially left the vet office! After a good cleaning, antibiotics, pain medication, and LOTS of love, this sweet boy is on his way to recovery!

He is truly the sweetest guy ever. One of our staff members even took him to get a hot dog after leaving the vet because, honestly, this gentle baby deserved a little treat! 🌭🥹

Freddy has been so well-mannered through everything. He has simply let us care for him and has shown us nothing but kindness despite everything he’s been through.

The vet suspected he was hit by a car and the drug. But being in the harsh outside world it has caused it to be sunburned, infected and who know what else. He’s got wounds all over his legs and but obviously his face is the worst.

He still has a long road ahead, but he’s surrounded by people who are going to fight for him every step of the way.

Thank you SO much to everyone who has supported Freddy. We couldn’t do this without you! We will keep everyone updated for the weeks to come!🐾🤍
