Founded in 1981, the ARL is one of very few no-kill facilities in Mississippi. This means there is no time limit on adoptions of each animal. If they are not adopted, they live out their lives at the shelter.

This sweet boy was found wandering down the road near the animal shelter yesterday. He isn’t microchipped and wasn’t wearing a collar, but we would love to help him find his way back home!

We’ve taken him in and are giving him a little spa treatment in the meantime! 😆

If you recognize him, know who his owner might be, or believe he may be yours, please stop by the shelter! Proof of ownership will be required for reclaiming him.

Let’s help this sweet boy find his way back to his family! Please share! ❤️🐾

Thank you, Laurel Oaks Dental Care! 💙

We are so incredibly grateful for all of the donations that Laurel Oaks Dental Care collected for our shelter during their donation drive! 🐶🐱

A HUGE thank you to everyone who participated in the donation drive and supported Laurel Oaks Dental Care! And a special thank you to Laurel Oaks Dental Care for choosing to host this drive and support the animals in our care 🫶🏼

These donations will help our shelter tremendously and allow us to continue providing the food, supplies, and exceptional care our animals deserve while they wait for their forever homes! 🐾

Big or small, every donation, share, foster, and adoption makes a difference. Our goal is to give our sheltered animals the best care possible in the meantime and to help them find loving homes! ❤️

Thank you for being part of their journey!

Grayson has been ADOPTED! He found his forever home this past weekend at the Hellfighters PDI Reunion! 🎉❤️

He spent the summer in foster with a sweet boy, but returned to us when his foster had to head back out of state for school. Fostering helped him gain home experience and time out of the shelter! We’re SO happy Grayson’s story ended with adoption, and we’re thrilled for him finding a forever home. Thank you for giving him a chance!

Thank you to everyone who came out, donated, and supported us this weekend. It truly means so much! 😊

Happy life, Grayson! 🐾✨

Opal was adopted, but this adoption comes with a truly touching story 🫶🏼

Mr. McCraw is currently facing a battle with cancer and recently lost his best friend, someone who kept him motivated and encouraged him to keep fighting. Wanting to do something special to help bring some joy into Mr. McCraw’s life, his friend, Mr. Ed Ray, reached out to us about finding the perfect companion for him.

And that’s where Opal comes in 🥹

At just 4–5 months old, this precious little girl is incredibly loving, with just the right amount of s***k and playfulness. She was exactly what Mr. McCraw needed!

On Wednesday, Mr. McCraw was surprised with Opal, and it didn’t take long for the two of them to fall in love. We couldn’t be happier knowing that our sweet girl has found such a special home, and that she can bring a little extra love and happiness into Mr. McCraw’s life.

Happy adoption, Opal! Wishing you both nothing but the best! 🐾💙

CASPER HAS BEEN ADOPTED! 🐾

A little late posting this one, but we couldn’t let it go by without celebrating! 🤍

Casper was one of kittens dropped off and left at our shelter several weeks ago. Thankfully, his story didn’t end there!

From being left behind to being LOVED & HOME — that’s what rescue is all about.

Congratulations, Casper! We’re so happy for you and your new family! 🏡
