🐾 WHAT REALLY HAPPENS WHEN YOUR PET HAS SURGERY AT SAHARA? 🐾

These photos are just a small glimpse into what happens behind the scenes when one of our patients is in surgery. ❤️

And we wanted to share them with you because we believe you should see the level of care your pet receives when they’re in our hands.

🩺 LOOK CLOSELY AT THESE PHOTOS…

You’ll see our surgeon working alongside an LVT and two veterinary technicians in training — all focused on ONE patient.

While your pet is under anesthesia, they aren’t simply “having a procedure.”

They are being watched, monitored, positioned, comforted and cared for throughout the entire process.

Their vital signs are monitored.
Their anesthesia is carefully managed.
Their comfort and pain control matter.
And our team is there through surgery and recovery.

Because at Sahara Animal Hospital, we treat every patient like they’re one of our own. 🐶🐱❤️

✨ AND NOW, WE’RE MAKING THIS CARE MORE ACCESSIBLE.

We’re extending our Spay & Neuter Special to EVERY WEDNESDAY IN SEPTEMBER!

Spaying and neutering can help:
🐾 Prevent unwanted litters
🐾 Reduce the risk of certain reproductive cancers and infections
🐾 Decrease roaming and some hormone-driven behaviors
🐾 Support your pet’s long-term health

And we know there are many options when it comes to having these procedures performed.

Our goal isn’t to compete with anyone — it’s to give our community another option.

When you choose Sahara Animal Hospital, you’re choosing a full-service general veterinary practice where your pet’s overall health and medical history are part of their care.

You have a veterinary team who knows your pet.
A team available before, during AND after surgery.
And a hospital you can continue to come back to for their lifelong healthcare.

💙 HIGH-QUALITY CARE.
COMPASSIONATE PEOPLE.

☀️ Las Vegas is heating up — and so is the danger for our pets. With temps around 110° and a high UV index, pets can overheat far faster than many people realize.

Please keep your pets indoors, cool, and hydrated today. Avoid mid-day walks, hot pavement, and outdoor activity during peak heat.

🐾 Watch for signs of overheating:
• Excessive panting
• Thick drooling
• Weakness or lethargy
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Bright red gums or collapse

🚨 Flat-faced breeds like Bulldogs, French Bulldogs, Pugs, Boston Terriers, and Persian cats are at especially high risk because they have a harder time cooling themselves.

If your pet seems overheated, move them into a cool area immediately, offer small amounts of water, apply cool towels to the paws/belly, and contact a veterinarian right away.

Your pets rely on you to keep them safe in this extreme Vegas heat. Please keep them inside as much as possible during these temps. ❤️🐾

Happy 4th of July from Sahara Animal Hospital! 🇺🇸🐾

Today, as we celebrate America’s 250th birthday, we want to take a moment to reflect on how grateful we are for the community that continues to support us year after year. To our incredible clients—thank you for trusting us with the care of your beloved pets. And to our sweet furry patients, thank you for filling our days with tail wags, purrs, and so much joy. ❤️🤍💙

We are truly honored to be a part of this community and to care for the pets who mean so much to your families. Your support, loyalty, and kindness never go unnoticed, and we appreciate each and every one of you more than words can say.

Reminder: Sahara Animal Hospital is closed today, Saturday 7/4, in observance of the holiday. We will reopen Monday 7/6 at 8:00 AM and look forward to seeing you then!

Wishing you and your pets a safe, joyful, and peaceful Independence Day. 🇺🇸✨🐶🐱

07/02/2026

🎆 Fireworks are fun for people — but for many pets, they can be one of the most frightening parts of the holiday.

The loud booms, flashing lights, and overall commotion of 4th of July celebrations can cause significant stress and anxiety for pets, often leading to shaking, hiding, panting, pacing, vocalizing, or attempts to escape. Even pets who do not typically seem nervous can panic when fireworks begin, which is why shelters often see a large increase in lost and runaway pets after the holiday.

To help keep your pet safe, please make sure they are securely indoors during celebrations, with doors, gates, and windows checked carefully. Providing a quiet, comfortable place to retreat can make a big difference for anxious pets during these noisy events.

If your pet takes calming medication, sedatives, or is running low on any important or life-sustaining medication, please request refills as soon as possible so there is enough time to prepare before the holiday weekend.

Sahara Animal Hospital will be closed Saturday 7/4 and will reopen Monday 7/6 at 8:00 AM. We encourage all medication requests to be made in advance so your pet has everything they need to stay safe and comfortable.

As we celebrate America’s 250th birthday, all of us at Sahara Animal Hospital wish you a safe, happy holiday with your pets close, calm, and protected. ❤️🤍💙🐾

🇺🇸🐾 Holiday Closure Reminder! 🐾🇺🇸

As we celebrate Independence Day and America’s 250th Birthday, Sahara Animal Hospital will be closed Saturday, July 4th and will reopen Monday, July 6th at 8:00 AM.

🎆 The photo reminds us that while fireworks are beautiful to us, they can be frightening for our pets. Creating a quiet, secure space indoors, keeping pets safely inside, and planning ahead for anxiety medication can make all the difference during the holiday.

⏰ We’re only open 4 days this week! If your pet typically needs calming or sedative medication for fireworks, please call before the holiday rush. Prescription requests require time to process, so don’t wait until the last minute.

From all of us at Sahara Animal Hospital, we wish you and your furry family members a safe, happy, and stress-free Fourth of July! ❤️🤍💙

🎉 Tell us in the comments: How are you and your pets celebrating America’s 250th Birthday? We’d love to see your patriotic pet photos! 🇺🇸🐶🐱
