A Home 4 Spot Animal Rescue

A Home 4 Spot Animal Rescue A Home 4 Spot Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) who rescue animals, treat, rehabilitate and re-home. Typically, our medical runs about $5,000-$10,000 a month.

A Home 4 Spot is comprised of many volunteers throughout Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas and other outlining areas that take in abused, neglected, medical needs and at risk dogs in their homes to start the rehabilitation process to heal our dogs inside out. Our objective is simple in that we treat, socialize and re-home dogs to homes that we closely evaluate making sure that each dog continu

es to thrive in their new home. We currently operate at thrift store located at 4324 N Decatur and Craig where people can donate slightly used which we are able to sell and in return gives us the ability to help more dogs. These last few years have been extremely hard for charities like ourselves and we have really seen the affects. We hate to turn any dog away and would love to save them all, so any amount whether it be $1.00 to $100.00, helps us maintain our goal to help self sustain our costs and eventually grow our rescue to its biggest potential possible. More times than not, we will help a family who simply cannot afford medical treatment on a dog but without donations, we are not able to continue helping those in need. Our rescue provides training, medical care to our dogs, and education to the public. Our training just doesn't involve the dogs, but the humans associated with the dogs. If we can help an owner find a solution to keep their pet and it is in the best interest for the pet to stay with the owner, then we work closely with these individuals and formulate plans to achieve this. Sometimes it is just as simple as the food they eat and sometimes it involves dog trainers to work closely with the dogs to encourage socialization, acceptable behavior in public and the home. Each volunteer that we accept into A Home 4 Spot is given an application to fill out on our website- www.ahome4spot.com and is required to receive periodic home checks as well as each volunteer must agree to transport the animal to the vet care facility as needed and attend at least two adoption events a month. If for some reason this is not able to happen, we have other volunteers that can help with transport and handle the dog during the events. The goal is to provide a safe, warm home with lots of love to reverse the dog’s outlook on life. most weekends we hold events, mostly at Petsmart - 2140 N Rainbow and Lake Mead, but on occasion we are invited to different establishments that support our work and just want to give us extra exposure. None of our foster parents are paid, however we do provide food and the basic care items for our dogs so volunteers have the tools to successfully care for the placed dog in their home. Because we are a non-profit, we rely on fundraising and charity donations to help us with the biggest expense, our medical. We provide all the shots, microchip, and the spay or neuter plus any additional treatment needed. Our typical adoption fees range from $300 upward to $600.00. This really just depends on the dog's medical needs, the age of the dog, the training needed and of course the breed of the dog. When we reference breed of the dog, it is simply because we encourage people to understand that certain dogs are extremely high maintenance and require more than just routine care so an increase in the adoption cost gives us somewhat of a guideline that this family could afford the needs of the dog with less chance of a return or a "dump". Every family considering adopting a dog goes through a complete thorough process. It begins with a search on our site or other related sites such as Petfinder or Adopt-a-Pet or maybe they have seen one of our dogs at an event or a blast on social media. They can inquire many ways. One would be via email, another by phone, by filling out an interest applications on our website and lastly they can also attend our events to meet and greet the dog they are drawn too. We have a very thorough application process that includes a rather lengthy questionnaire, a thorough home check and sometimes several visits and/or play dates. We are in absolutely no hurry to ever place any of our dogs, in fact we believe that finding the right fit for all parties concerned might take more than just a meet and greet and home check. Because of this, our return rate is extremely lower than per say establishments such as kill shelters. Our volunteers are trained and given the right tools to help them determine whether or not the home is the perfect match. Even though our efforts are valiant in this process, we still receive from time to time dogs back into the rescue and we are proud to say that we keep the commitment to the families we adopt out too as well as continue our relationship with them forever.

Meet Chip! 🐾 This sweet but shy boy was found in the desert alongside another dog, both in survival mode. Thankfully, Paws Patrol came to his rescue and gave him a second chance at life. Chip has been living in a home with other dogs and kids and has done well with both. He can be a little nervous at first, but once he feels safe and comfortable, he truly blossoms. His loving personality comes out in the best way — with lots of affection and even literal hugs. He tends to enjoy playing more with female dogs, although his current favorite playmate happens to be a male dog. Chip is both crate trained (although he prefers being out with everyone) and potty trained. Chip is estimated to be around 4 years old, but don’t let his greys fool you — his bright white teeth show he still has plenty of happy years ahead of him! He has a calm demeanor, walks beautifully on a leash, and already knows some commands. Loud noises can spook him a bit, but that doesn’t stop him from being a loyal and loving companion. He takes correction well and absolutely loves a good belly rub. Chip is fully vetted and ready to find his forever home. If you’re interested in fostering or adopting this special boy, please let us know!

Meet Henry who we call Cujo! Don’t let the name fool you—he is a friendly, playful puppy with a big personality! He earned his name because of the fierce growl he makes while wrestling with his brothers and sisters, but it’s all part of the fun. Cujo is the most confident puppy in the litter and is always ready for his next adventure. Cujo is a Plott Hound mix. His mom is a Plott Hound, and while Dad is unknown, he may have been a Boxer or Pit Bull-type mix. We estimate he will weigh approximately 45–65 pounds when fully grown. Cujo loves to run, play, chase toys, and wrestle with his siblings. He is vocal, curious, and usually the first to investigate something new. While he enjoys attention and affection, he is more independent than some of his littermates. He gets along well with other dogs, has been raised around chickens, and is friendly with strangers. Cujo uses a dog door, is partially potty trained, and is looking for an active home with a securely fenced yard where he can run and play. 🐾 Please fill out an application to meet him!

Harvey, a Plott Hound mix, was born on Easter Sunday and he is ready to find his forever family. He likes to play with his foster kids and fur siblings but refuses to miss his afternoon nap on his favorite person's lap! Staying true to his Plott Hound roots, Harvey will quickly trail a scent and get lost with his nose to the ground. He's an active guy and will require a home with a secure yard where he can run, play, and explore! If you're interested in meeting Harvey, please fill out an adoption interest form on our website and the foster will get back to you shortly. Adoption fees and home checks apply.

Meet Betty! 💕 Betty is a 10-year-old Chihuahua who has clearly been through a lot. While we don’t know her full story, it’s obvious she hasn’t always been treated with the kindness she deserved. She can be nervous at first and may cower or flinch when someone reaches for her, but once she realizes she’s safe, her sweet little personality starts to shine. Betty came to us from the local shelter weighing 14 pounds, but she has been working hard on her diet plan and has already lost 2 pounds! She also had rotten teeth and a lump on her tail, so the rescue made sure she received a much-needed dental and tail surgery. Betty does have mild luxating patellas, so she is best suited for short, easy walks and a lower-key lifestyle. Once she trusts you, she will be your loyal little shadow. She loves sleeping under the covers, curling up on your lap, and giving the gentlest little kisses. Betty is not the type of dog who will instantly be everyone’s best friend. She needs a patient, understanding home that will give her time to build trust at her own pace. We are looking for an adult-only home where she can finally feel safe, loved, and cherished the way she always should have been. She is being fostered with other dogs, a cat, and teenagers, and she does well with all of them. Like many Chihuahuas, Betty also has a sassy side, but it only makes her more endearing. If you think you could be the perfect fit for Betty, please fill out an application on our website. Home check and adoption fee apply.

Meet Jack! Jack is a 5-month-old Cattle Dog mix who is pure sweetness with an eagerness to please. He’s on the smaller side at only about 25 pounds, but don’t let his size fool you — this boy is full of personality and energy! Jack is doing great with potty training as long as he stays on a consistent schedule. He’s also rocking his crate training and learning his manners more and more every day. Like most puppies, he’s still a work in progress, but he’s a very smart boy who truly wants to make his people happy. Jack gets along great with kids and other dogs and would thrive in an active home that can keep him mentally and physically engaged. Because of his energy level and breed mix, he does require a home with a yard where he can run, play, and burn off some puppy energy. Whoever adopts this lovable pup is going to be incredibly lucky! If you’re interested in meeting Jack, please fill out an adoption application on our website. Home check and adoption fee apply.

Meet Theresa 🩷

Theresa is a 4-year-old Shepherd mix with a gentle soul and the sweetest heart. She is incredibly loving and has absolutely no aggression, but she is very, very shy.

Theresa gets along well with other dogs, but she isn’t interested in playing and becomes uncomfortable when dogs are too pushy or get in her space. She would do best in a calm, low-key household where any resident dogs are respectful and give her the space she needs to feel comfortable.

This beautiful girl has never really had the chance to experience what it means to be part of a family. She doesn’t know the comfort of a cozy bed or the security of a loving home. She has spent much of her life feeling safest on rocks, dirt, or even a bathroom floor. In her foster home, she has started to come out of her shell, but she still only feels comfortable eating and drinking when no one is watching.

Theresa is learning to trust, and every small step forward is a victory. What she needs most is someone willing to move at her pace, show her kindness, and help her discover that love is real.

With time, patience, and understanding, Theresa will blossom into an incredibly loyal companion. If you have a calm home and a big heart for a dog who deserves a second chance, Theresa may be the perfect fit for your family.

If you’re interested in meeting Theresa, please fill out an adoption application on our website. Home check and adoption fee apply.

Meet Brooke 🍭

Brooke is a sweet 1½-year-old Shepherd mix who found herself at a high-intake shelter with an uncertain future. Thankfully, A Home 4 Spot was able to rescue her, and she is now settling into a loving foster home.

At just 38 pounds, Brooke is a petite girl with a big heart. She is dog-friendly, though she can be shy and a little intimidated when meeting new people or dogs. Once she feels safe, all she wants is to curl up in your lap and soak up the love and affection she’s been missing.

Brooke would thrive in a calmer home where she can continue building confidence and receive the patience, love, and security she deserves. We are still getting to know this beautiful girl, but so far she has been incredibly sweet and gentle.

If you’re interested in meeting Brooke, please fill out an adoption application on our website. Home check and adoption fee apply. ❤️🐾

Meet Zev!

This sweet mystery mix is looking for her forever home. At approximately 6-months old, this girl is pure puppy! Currently about 28 lbs, she may be anywhere from 45-60lb as an adult (estimated). She is social, loves to play with her foster sister, and would thrive in a home with another dog to help her learn. At the dog park, she wants to meet every human and get some love. Still a little wary of other dogs in public, but warms up quickly. She has learned to use the doggy door, is getting the hang of potty training, and knows ‘sit’. She is smart, looks to please, and is absolutely food-motivated. In her downtime, she looks for cave-like spots and would take well to crate training, but is also not one to turn down a cuddle either. This energetic girl will do well in an active household, potentially with another dog for lots of play time. Given that she is a puppy, she will need patience and time to be invested in her overall training. If you are interested in meeting Zev, please fill out an adoption interest form on our website, and the foster will get back to you shortly. Adoption fees and home checks apply.
