Most people assume "dwarf" means plain.

Dolichothele diamantinensis is the exception. At full size (2.5-3 inches) the abdomen and legs carry an iridescent blue-violet sheen that holds up under direct light in a way photos genuinely cannot represent. It is one of the more visually impressive things you can keep on a desk.

Many have seen the adults, everyone asks when babies will be available. They’re now here! We were able to bring in a limited supply of babies to offer!

When asked which T is my favorite, I always say these guys! Hands down! Look how this little brown fluff ball turns into the most beautiful spider in the hobby!

What is the smallest species currently in your collection?

10/02/2026

Small sling. SERIOUS tarantula.

Omothymus violaceopes, the Singapore Blue, is back in the FLPD spider room.

These little slings have a lot of growing ahead of them, eventually becoming one of the most impressive arboreal Old Worlds in the hobby.

Fast. Large. Beautiful. And definitely a species that deserves respect.

For the experienced keepers who've had Singapore Blue on their list, your next project just showed up.
