It’s been a few seasons of building out my Blood Orange line, and working different trait mashups into it has definitely kept things interesting. This season I experimented with Koa, my extreme Tricolor, and his offspring really showed off his influence — extreme and tiger patterns, plus the way this line pushes and manipulates orange is wild. From EBs and pinstripes to extremes and tigers, I’m thinking snowflakes next season might be the move. 🔥🧡

Well damn, look at that! The crest on this crown and the neck folds on this little one are stellar. I didn’t have much luck with visual Axanthics this season — visual × visual pairings will do that and by the time I found a het AX that checked all the boxes, I was already a few clutches of duds in and mid-season. But I’ve been selective about structure and the traits I wanted in my breeders, and seeing results like this makes it worth it. 🔥

I feed all of my geckos twice a week, with crickets added on one of those days. This Sable Lilly 100% het AX is just under 5 months old and a little over 20 grams — a good reminder that not every gecko grows at the same pace.

A couple of het AX Lillys, het EB/SS part of the foundation for my AX project. It’s been a slow build because I didn’t just want to produce visuals — I want to make visuals with diverse lineage, big crests, thick dorsals, and strong structure.
Really happy with how these hets have hatched out so far!

When you start recognizing which traits stay reliable and consistent across different pairings and how each breeder’s phenotype interacts in combos — it becomes a huge stepping stone for stacking and building your projects.

I was going through old photos and found a baby pic of Lady Luck, a Kaizer X Polaris kid from two seasons ago. Kaizer’s been the backbone of a lot of my projects, and I’ve learned just how reliable and consistent his traits are in his offspring. Polaris, on the other hand, isn’t a showstopper — but with her lineage, I knew she had potential. This just goes to show that development takes time. Never underestimate a grow out. 👀

Progression shot of the Blood Orange Capp I shared on my story a few weeks back. This one hatched out translucent and isn’t known to carry the “Fire” gene. The color intensity already showing at under 5g tells me this one’s going to be vivid!
