🌎🐾 Training the Future of Veterinary Medicine 🐾🌎

At Animal Hospital of Las Cruces, we’re not just caring for pets today, we’re preparing the veterinary professionals of tomorrow! 💙

This week, our amazing veterinary support staff practiced putting on surgical gowns and gloves under the guidance of our Medical Director, Dr. Morrow. These skills are essential for maintaining aseptic technique during surgeries and other sterile treatments, ensuring the highest level of care for our patients.

We’re proud of our team’s dedication to learning and growing so they can provide the very best for every pet who walks through our doors. 🐶🐱🐾

🚨🐾 TEAM TRAINING ALERT! 🐾🚨

At Animal Hospital of Las Cruces, we never stop learning, because your pets deserve the very best care, especially when it matters most. ❤️‍🩹

Recently, our entire team, yes, even our amazing CSRs!, took part in hands-on CPR training 🫀 and our vet med staff practiced running a full emergency crash code. And yes, we practiced on stuffed animals first… because every hero needs a safe place to start. 🧸🐶🐱

These drills help ensure that if a real emergency happens, we’re calm, confident, and ready to spring into action to save lives. 🩺💪

Check out some behind-the-scenes pics of our team in action, we’re serious about safety, but we had a little fun along the way too! 📸🐾

📣 Meet Our New Practice Manager – Albert Escobedo! 🐾

We’re thrilled to officially welcome Albert Escobedo as the new Practice Manager of Animal Hospital of Las Cruces! 🎉 While he joined our team back in March, we’re finally taking a moment to introduce him properly.

Albert brings nearly 20 years of veterinary experience, leadership, and compassion to our clinic. Originally from Indiana, he became a Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVTg) in 2007 after graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Technology from Purdue University, where he studied veterinary medicine, management, and leadership.

His career journey includes:
🔹 Practicing as an RVTg in Indiana
🔹 Moving to California in 2014 to teach and direct a Veterinary Assistant Certification Program
🔹 Managing a cat rescue in Los Angeles, where he adopted Ziggy, his special needs cat who is now a happy, paralyzed 3-year-old
🔹 Serving as Director of Veterinary Operations at the Humane Society of Sonoma County, where he oversaw HQHVSN, Shelter Medicine, and a Community Veterinary Clinic
🔹 Launching SOCO SNIP, a hands-on training program teaching California DVMs high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter surgery skills

Now, Albert has moved to New Mexico with his wife, son, and their three beloved pets:
🐱 Ziggy (the paralyzed wonder cat)
🐱 Pebbles (7-year-old black cat)
🐶 Angelita (sweet 10-year-old Doxy mix)

His wife is originally from El Paso, and their move brings them closer to family, and to a new chapter with our team and community.

Please help us give Albert a warm Las Cruces welcome! 💙

🎆 BOOM! BANG! BARK?! 🎇
The 4th of July is just around the corner, and while we humans love the fireworks, our furry friends… not so much. 😰💥

Now’s the time to get ahead of the noise! If your pet needs medication to stay calm during the celebrations, give us a call THIS WEEK or NEXT to get those orders in. 🐾📞💊

🚨 Don’t wait until the fireworks are flying, our phones will be ringing off the hook, and we want to make sure your pet is covered and comfortable.

Let’s help them have a Safe & Chill Independence Day! 🐶🐱❤️

Join us in welcoming Dr. Weaver to our veterinary team. Here is a message he has for you all!

"My name is Nate Weaver and I’m originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, but I’ve called New Mexico home for most of the past 15 years. I completed my undergraduate degree at New Mexico State University in 2020 and grew to appreciate all that Las Cruces has to offer. I earned my veterinary degree from Washington State University this past May, where I developed a strong interest in surgery and tackling complex medical cases.

I have a special passion for caring for animals with “disabilities”—something that hits close to home, as I share my life with a three-legged cat named Ollie. Outside of veterinary medicine, I enjoy playing guitar and watching hockey and football.

I’m truly excited to get to know—and serve—the people and pets of Las Cruces."
