Attention Pet Dr. 911 Family and surrounding communities, A crucial public service announcement is in order. We've observed a recent surge in cases involving a specific type of toxicity, and we're eager to provide guidance. When we inquire about potential exposure to toxins, honesty is essential in helping us determine the best course of treatment for your pet. If you're concerned about the origin of the symptoms, please take steps to securely store potential hazards out of reach of your pets. Given the severity of this toxin, hospitalization is strongly advised. If the recommended treatment is financially challenging, it's essential to prioritize your pet's health over discretion.

Good morning, Pet Dr. 911 Family. As Koda the Newfoundland, I'm enjoying my water tank and staying cool in this warm weather. Recently, our clinic has experienced extremely busy weekends, operating at full capacity in a short span. Unfortunately, parvovirus cases are rising. We've noticed posts suggesting that vaccinations and regular vet visits are unaffordable. However, we must emphasize that the cost of neglecting these preventive measures far outweighs the expenses of timely vaccinations and check-ups, especially when considering the costly take-home care or hospitalization required after a positive diagnosis. Therefore, we strongly advise vaccinating your dogs and cats.

We are Open this weekend Saturday and Sunday 8am to 6pm

As the season changes, we would like to remind pet owners to take precautions to prevent burnt paw pads. Scheduling walks for the morning is highly recommended, as the cooler atmosphere can significantly reduce the risk of heat-related injuries. Burnt paws and heat exhaustion can be a dangerous combination. Our clinic will operate on Saturday and Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm. Due to capacity constraints in the evenings, we prioritize urgent cases, and kindly request your understanding and patience towards our staff.

Good morning, Pet Dr. 911 Family. The current weather has been quite lovely. However, a recent discussion on a local post in Las Cruces highlights an important issue: pets left in vehicles. It's critical to grasp how hazardous this situation can be.
Cars parked in sunlight can rapidly heat up, reaching temperatures over 40°F higher than the outside temperature within an hour. Even on a day with an outside temperature of 70°F, the interior of a car can heat up to over 100°F in a matter of minutes, posing a significant threat to pets who can suffer from heatstroke. Since pets are not adept at sweating and regulating their body temperature, they are at high risk of severe organ damage or death, often within 10 to 30 minutes.
We are available on Saturdays and Sundays, from 8 am to 6 pm, to cater to your urgent pet care requirements.
