IN NEED OF HERO'S....
So many good dogs in need. People have been more lately saying they were interested in dogs then back out. We had a few adopters back out on dogs when we call to verify they are going to be at transport when dogs arrive. Others that say if we save certain dogs we post from the euthanasia list they will adopt then never follow through. While we have so many amazing folks that have been true hero's and saviors to us and these dogs, there is also a fair amount that is making this work even more stressful and time wasting for the life saving mission we are trying to do. Folks that have correspondence with us and we spend time on, put in applications and then never get back to us are taking time from saving dogs. We are at the point that we can't save others until these pups we have here or have coming in July placed. So that said here are some dogs in immediate need that are here and ones coming in July that need fosters, adopters or foster to adopt homes. PLEASE REACH OUT IF YOU CAN HELP. Adoption and foster applications below. Submitting an application doesn't commit you to anything it allows us to get folks pre-approved so should a dog be a fit for your home you have first option. Hi Folks! This good boy is in need of a foster, adopter or foster to adopt immediately. He was on the list to be euthanized for shelter space. An awesome TX foster got him out until he could jump aboard transport to New England. A wonderful New England foster took Jay and Dennis home to foster, possibly adopt Jay depending how she reacted to his hair. She has allergies to some hair. While she did have some reaction to Jay's hair a family medical emergency came up and she has to leave town for an extended period of time just after the 4th of July. So that said we are in desperate need of a home for Jay. Both boys need to be placed. He would make a great family pup, loves romping with other pups and good with everyone. Will someone stand up for this sweet guy even just for a time until forever can be found? PLEASE let us know ASAP.

He is a real gentleman! Crate trained, Potty trained, a little playful but pretty chill otherwise.

Very food motivated & a great dog!

I AM HOME...
So happy to share that Cupcake now Freya went to forever today. This one was an emotional one for me but I know she is going to the home she was meant for. She is guaranteed to be loved and spoiled. She will have a fur brother, cats and a mum and human siblings to love. This girl went from found stray with her tiny pup in TX to last call for space to stuck in shelter when they had to shut down for a period due to an outbreak. We worked through all that with the amazing folks at FWACC. Her pup then got to foster. A foster then stood up for her and during her spay surgery she aspirated. We didn't think she was going to make it. I prayed daily for her and little by little she improved until the shelter let me know she was well enough to go to foster! To TX foster she went until she jumped aboard the transport to New England. On top of all that the adopter we had for her for a period of time backed out the week she was due to arrive. Soooo she came home with me to foster upon arrival. This girl is the sweetest and I'm so thankful for all that helped in her journey. You will always be a part of my heart Freya. Happy life, you are home. 💞

Slow getting posts up as things have been so overwhelming lately. I want to extend a HUGE heartfelt THANK YOU to Janie Benson! Janie understands all the work and $ and time that goes into saving dogs. She made a very generous donation towards helping our sweet boy Mozart with his medical costs. This boy needs continued care with a wonderful foster home in TX. He needs weekly vetting, splint changes, skin care and more until he is ready to come to New England to find his forever home. We saw something in this sweet pup when he was about to be euthanized for space. We can't always take on medical cases because yes it takes money. Without financial support for the dogs, rescuers can only do so much. Thank you from our hearts to yours Janie. 💞

***Please Read***
Here is a bit of an informational conversation type of post. Only because i'm tired of the mis information and people not being truly informed of how ethical rescues work. Some think it's a perfect little package of how everything "should" work. First off there is NO ETHICAL rescue making money off dogs. Also no rescue should be made to feel like they are doing something wrong by saving animals from another state. Overpopulation doesn't happen from a rescue that is getting spayed/neutered, vetted animals and finding forever homes for them, regardless of where they came from. Overpopulation comes from not spaying and neutering, backyard breeding. What needs to happen is laws on breeding. There is also nothing wrong with ETHICAL breeders that are bettering the breed. They should be the ONLY ones breeding. People that want to just breed dogs for their pockets or puppy mills mass breeding WRONG. Rescues should be working together regardless of where dogs "initially" came from. It is about the DOGS lives end of story. This is not a competition. Rescue is a full time job that we aren't getting paid for and anyone that wants to degrade what we are doing is welcome to help out. While VT is becoming more dog dumping it isn't due to rescues. Also most ALL VT rescues and shelters pull from other states. Their are 8 other shelters and rescues that i know of in New England states that pull their dogs from where we do. Same transport. So lets come together and focus on what matters here, the DOGS and forever homes.

Hey all!!!!
Want to introduce you to this goofy sweet girl Darla.(formerly known as Diva) Darla was found on the streets of TX with her 6 tiny pups. Her and her babies were on the urgent list for space. We just felt this family had to get out to live out their lives like they deserve. She arrived in VT on June 20th. I am fostering her with another momma that came on transport. I have 4 of my own dogs and she has been perfect with everyone. She also was great buddies with the cats in her TX foster. She has the goofy hound mix personality. You can not help but love her. She has those sad soulful eyes that just melt your heart. She LOVES people and other dogs and cats so would like to find a forever with companions. Also people that can be around a fair amount would be ideal. This girl does not have a mean bone in her. She is a keeper that i just can't keep. Hey Again Folks!
We are looking for a home for this stunning handsome boy Denali. (formerly Denver) This guy had a home when arriving in New England that was willing to give it a go with household cats. We have determined for all involved he would do best in a no cat home. He is truly an amazing dog. He is sweet, loving, smart, likes other dogs and loves to be active yet also will settle to chilling and loving. He is a young boy at approximately 1 1/2 years old and around 65 lbs. Below are notes from his current home.

Denali is a sweet, loveable, and very intelligent boy. He is very treat-motivated, and eager for mental/physical enrichment. He’s gentle when he takes treats. He has high energy, but knows how to “switch off” after exercise and enjoys cozying up in his bed. He’s also done great in the crate so far and riding in the car. He loves spending time outside, whether going on a long walk or just hanging out and watching the world. He’s been a lovely on the leash –walking right at my side with minimal pulling and generally redirects easily for most distractions. He does have a very high-prey drive and would do best without indoor cats. He’s also a big puppy and still figuring out his size and strength.

I suspect Denali would do best with another dog to romp around with and help build his confidence. He LOVES long walks and hikes and would do well with an active owner.

If interested in Denali we would welcome foster to adopt, adopt or foster.

Hey Folks!
Been crazy busy and trying to do a little catch up when possible. So here is one of my favorite things to do! So happy to share with you Luna is home! This amazing girl has encountered many hero's on her journey. She had a wonderful foster home in TX who got her her up to a good weight and her coat again healthy. Got her all ready to cash in her golden ticket and jump aboard the big purple bus to come to New England. While in New England she again recieved the best of care from another amazing foster home. Then what every dog deserves...On to forever! She connected instantly upon meet with her new family which includes an elderly fur sister. Beyond grateful for all the stepped up for her in her journey. I know you will have the best life Luna, the life you deserve. 💞
