Days like this make me want to get outside. Dig. Prepare. This is a good reminder to wait. Everything in its time. And, when it’s time, bee kind.

The first flowers most people remove each spring are the ones bees search for first.

After winter, hives don’t have reserves left. For several weeks there are almost no open blooms — except what appears in lawns.

To us they look messy.
To a bee, it’s the first real food it has seen in months.

When those patches disappear overnight, the insects don’t move somewhere better. They simply don’t eat that day.

A perfect pollinator garden planted in May cannot replace what existed in April.

Before the first mow or spray, wait a little longer.

Sometimes the season starts lower than we expect.

Now that the lavender harvest is done and summer is winding down, it's time that we relax and enjoy a quieter pace (for a little while anyway). Both the farm shop and our market booth will be closed until September 13th. Saturday morning yoga in the lavender field with Divine Child Yoga & Movement will resume on September 6th. We could not be more grateful for everyone that made our summer season a success. Thank you, see you soon! ☮ ♥

Hard to believe...summer is winding down...the lavender fields are ready for harvest. Thank you to everyone who came out to cut. We are rolling back our hours for the remainder of the summer season to allow us the time to harvest and distill. While Doreen holds down the farm shop, here's a BIG shout out to our friends at South Bend Farmer's Market...Mike will back in our booth this Saturday.
