Thank you to all that participated in the Canine Rattlesnake Avoidance Clinic today.
We appreciate you!!!
This is a very valuable resource safety program and Jake the Herpetologist from Snake Out, travels all the way from South Sacramento to provide us with this service.
My job is to host and promote this course, and create a comfortable work environment for Jake and his snakes. And your participation and insight to the value of this program keeps him coming back.
We value our out of town guests that provide for us the services that are not readily and locally available.
Thank you dog owners/lovers of Lake County.

I just love it when people give us an extra reason to celebrate. Happy 5th Birthday Oliver!!! We have known you since you were 8 weeks old. Enjoy your birthday celebration and toy from us, and all the dogs and parents loved all the goodie bags to go. Thank you and looking forward to celebrating another on the next round 🎉

So, I believe in karma points and the good deed system. Well, I decided to pay some forward this weekend to these do-gooder people and their new pup. Alice, this adorable 12 week old puppy needed a place to stay while her people were away for the weekend. This is a sad story with a happy ending. I love this story and how this pup became ‘Alice’.
A dog was dumped in the Kelseyville rural area. Surprise surprise right? Well, she was pregnant and had a litter of pups in a nearby barn.
Unfortunately when the pups were still very young, she, mama dog was discovered to be hit and killed by a car not too far from the barn in which she had hid her pups. 😳😩The puppies were discovered by the ranchers after discovering the deceased mama dog on the roadside. There were 7. They were young, but in good health. They cared for them, (kudos), they found good homes for them, (not easy to do), they kept one and has sought out help from me on how to raise a puppy. (High five!!!)

Just about a month ago we had an urgent, spontaneous guest from out of town that was in dire straights. A senior couple from the Bay Area had arrived for a local family wedding. They brought their adorable family pet, Roxy. When they arrived at their lodging destination, they discovered it was not pet friendly. The entire family was scrambling to find a solution for the pup that would allow all the family members to attend the wedding celebration. They contacted me with their dilemma and within 30 minutes on a weekend, we had vaccine records sent here from their vet, got the dog checked in and comfortable in our air conditioned mut hut, and set up for a play session for the afternoon with one of our friendly staff for the weekend.
We can’t always be this efficient as for the routine process to onboard takes about two weeks. But we were proud to make it happen for these nice folks and a good time was had by all.
