Zeus is a 2 year old pit bull. He is wonderful with his family and people he knows, but takes a minute to warm up to strangers. He has never bit anyone, he's just intimidating at first. He is good around other dogs and cats. He loves to play tug of war and will play catch for hours. Sadly, His owner passed away 6 months ago. He currently resides downstate on the east side, but his current caretaker is willing to transport part way for the right home.

One of Felicity's kittens was adopted a couple days ago, and another, Diana is Adoption pending.
Now Momma Felicity and her 3 other kittens (approx DOB 2/22/25) are ready for forever love also.

Felicity- approx 1.5yrs, sweet girl, curious about other cats.

Peter- super playful but also cautious of new things. Sweet boy

Natasha- sweet and more laid back kitten, but also adventurous

Bruce- playful and sweet. Loves to groom his people lol

I would like to thank the Lake City Officials who thought of our store's mission when cleaning out the contents of the Family Diner. I'm working with several local charities to place the kitchen items.

* Living Waters Hospitality House - Lunches held on Wednesdays at the E.P.C. Church

* The Ground UP - Mission that helps usually women/children (sometimes men) with their new apartment/home and provides as well as sets up their furnishings. They provide classes on budgeting, cooking, and more. They get together and cook a community meal (I believe) once a month to share together.

* The LC Senior Center

* And some things may be useful to Awaiting Arms Rescue Sanctuary.

We appreciate the opportunity to receive items that will support our local agencies who care for our local residents. Collaboration is what creates our close-knit community bond. I always say "People are worth more than money". Thank you for caring. For future donations:

*The Ground UP regularly needs pots and pans, bake ware, and dish sets.

*LC Senior Center could use standard-size baking sheets. They have commercial-size sheets and they don't fit in their oven.

As always, if you can't make it to their location, please feel free to drop off at my store.
We can also take non-perishable food items and paper products - paper plates, plastic cups, plastic utensils, paper towels, and napkins - at our location for Strength and Hope as well as Food Bank. Thank you.

Nala and her 4 two week old babies are coming into rescue today. She's being treated for mastitis so we may need to bottle feed or supplement the kittens for a couple weeks.

Yes, we have adoptable bunnies, and Yes, they will be at the meet and greet tomorrow in Houghton Lake. However we do have an application process and adoption fee and won't give these bunnies to just anyone.

These bunnies should NOT live in small, rabbit cages that are sold at stores. They need room to bounce and play. A dog Xpen or spare room with a hutch for nighttime is great

HELP!

Agave needs a calmer foster or forever home, or a room away from the energy of other pets and children. He's stressed out by the foster kittens running around in the same room but his current foster family does not have another space to use. He is one from the recent hording situation so he needs some room to roam. A standard dog Xpen would be enough room with a carrier inside for a hiding/sleep place. This neutered boy is still shy from not being handled much where he started, so would do best without young children that will want to grab at him.

Have you been wanting a bunny, but know you're not ready for a 6-10 year commitment? Become a foster family and care for them until their forever family takes them home.

Our next Meet & Greet is this Saturday from 11-2 at the Tractor Supply in Houghton Lake. We know it's Easter weekend, so we are offering to hold adopted pets until next week 😁

🌞THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING🌞
Awaiting Arms is hoping to find foster homes for 2 pairs of cats and a single cat that are social. They would highly benefit from getting out of our cat room and into a home environment where they can get more one-on-one attention. These are all females that are already spayed, tested and vaccinated.

We cover all supplies and just ask that you love and care for them until forever homes can be found, attend 1 or both Meet & Greets each month (one in Cadillac, one in Houghton Lake), be willing to take them to vet visits, and meet approved applicants- with another AARS volunteer - to finalize adoptions. These meetings Do Not happen in your home.

Paisley & Maria

Jolene lives with other cats but is picky about litter cleanliness so may be happiest with litterbox choices if there's other cats in the home.

We recommend starting all fosters in a separate room or large cage to acclimate and see they are safe.

Help us make our rescue cat room a temporary placement, not a lifelong placement. Our goal is to only use the cat room to allow mothers to wean babies, house orphans until they're ready for fosters/adopters, and as a temporary placement between surrender and foster. Although they have large walk-in kennels, it is still not the same as the attention and exposure to everyday objects that they can get from a foster home.

Help us prepare more kitties for their forever homes by becoming a foster parent.

SHOUT OUT TIME!
We want to give a big thank you to the gentleman that stopped in at Lake and Trail resale to leave us a generous donation! We would love to thank him personally but he did not leave a name so we are posting. We also want to give another big shout out to Lake and Lake & Trail Resale for always accepting donations for us to pick up. KITTEN CHAOS is already upon us!!

A. This is the time of year that Moms with babies, soon to be Moms, and abandoned kitten calls come pouring in!

Q. When will the kittens be available to adopt?
A. Kittens stay with their mom until approximately 8 weeks old to allow mom to wean them properly. Orphaned kittens can sometimes be adopted around 7 weeks if they've been eating solid food and using the litterbox. Each litter or kitten varies based on their needs.

Princess Update
Surgery went well but took a bit longer and needed extra stitching and sedation. It cost us an extra $158.93 She's recovering well beside being clumsy and bumping one of the eyes yesterday 🤦‍♀️
She was a bit drooly from the tooth removal but that's stopped now also ❤️

Her vet did a quick check of a tiny lump we found on her side. It's not soft like a fatty cyst, so after recovery we need to set an appointment for it to be checked and likely x-rayed.
