🐾 Beau-date! 🐾

New dog, who dis?!

Beau has officially been with his foster for a month now, and WOW… what a transformation! ❤️

When Beau first came into rescue, his fur was caked with poo, his nails were terribly overgrown, and his body was covered in cysts from skin that was in very rough shape. But after a month of medicated baths, treatments, good care, and so much love, look at him now!

His skin is improving, his hair is growing back beautifully, and every day we see more of his personality shine through. While outside noises—especially busy roads—still make him nervous, Beau continues to show us just how brave he is.

He’s started playing now too! Although, in true Beau fashion, he seems to prefer stealing socks over actual dog toys 😂🧦 He’s discovered he has some serious hops, loves running, and that tail wag is becoming a more frequent sight.

This past week Beau even met some kiddos and did well. He’s continuing to work on getting back to being housebroken and is making progress every day.

He also had a check-up this week, and Dr. Hill at Columbia Animal Clinic was very happy with his progress! While Beau hasn’t gained a lot of weight yet, he’s building muscle back in his rear end and starting to fill out all over.

Beau’s journey isn’t over yet, but he is getting closer and closer to finding the forever family he deserves. ❤️

It is with a heavy heart that we share the loss of a beloved member of the NEOCR family. Ron was rarely seen without a dog by his side or a smile on his face. He had a heart for all dogs, not just Collies and a kindness that touched everyone who knew him. His love for the dogs, dedication to rescue, and warm spirit left an impact that will not be forgotten.

Ron was more than a supporter of NEOCR — he was family. His presence brought joy, laughter, and comfort to both people and dogs alike. While our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the memories, the love he shared, and the countless lives he helped make better.

Please keep his wife Linde and loved ones in your thoughts during this difficult time. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. ❤️🐾

An Ode to the Love of Dog Moms

A dog mom’s heart is stitched with thread
Of joyful days and tears once shed.
Through wagging tails and gentle eyes,
Their love outshines the darkest skies.

Some wake each morn to happy barks,
To muddy paws and playful sparks.
A leash, a walk, a ball to chase,
Pure happiness in furry grace.

Some hold their pups in memory tight,
Whose stars now glow through heaven’s night.
Across the Rainbow Bridge they run,
Still chasing fields in endless sun.

Yet whether here or gone above,
A dog mom never loses love.
For pawprints linger, deep and true,
In every single thing we do.

A slobbered kiss, a chewed-up shoe,
A loyal friend who saw us through.
They teach our hearts to stay so wide,
With every cuddle by our side.

And when at last their journey ends,
They’re waiting there like faithful friends.
No time, no loss, no drifting years
Can wash away those joyful tears.

So here’s to dog moms everywhere,
Whose hearts hold love beyond compare.
For once a dog has loved your soul,
You’re changed forever—sweetly whole.

Beau-Date 💙

Beau has officially been with his foster for two weeks now, and the changes already are incredible. In that short time, he has started putting on weight, his hair is slowly growing back, and his skin is beginning to heal. While he still has some cysts on his body, most are small, and he continues to improve every day with medicated baths, good care, and lots of love.

Emotionally, Beau is still a little skittish, but also incredibly brave. He likes to stay close to his foster’s side and is slowly learning what comfort and safety feel like. He’s even starting to play with toys — although retrieving them is still a work in progress. 😊

One of the sweetest things about Beau is how gentle he is with all of his foster siblings, including the feathered friends. He doesn’t pay the birds any mind at all and fits right in with the whole crew.

Healing takes time, but Beau is finally getting the chance he always deserved. Thank you to everyone following his journey, cheering him on, and supporting dogs like Beau along the way. 🐾
