The Canine Carnival Dog Sport Sampler is fast approaching and we're very excited for this weekend of dog sports. We have finalized the schedule for each day. Get ready to learn about 6 different dog sports over 2 days!

Saturday's demonstrations, instruction, games, and try-it times will be for Dock Diving, Rally-Obedience, and NASDA.

Sunday's demonstrations, instruction, games, and try-it times will be for Nosework, UpDog, and Barn Hunt!

Working spots are required for teams that wish to participate; but the event is free for spectators. Secure your spot today – we have limited spots available!

🎪 We've gotten a few inquiries about age restrictions for both puppies & handlers for the Canine Carnival Dog Sport Sampler.

🐾 Puppies, like the adult dogs attending, need to be fully vaccinated. Puppies typically complete their vaccination schedule around 16 weeks old. We can adapt the curriculum to be suitable for a young puppy! See photos below of the young dogs we have worked with in the featured sports!

👧 Junior handlers are welcome to attend so long as they are accompanied by an adult for the entire duration. The junior handler must be able to safely handle the dog. It is up to the attending adult to provide handling & management assistance to the junior when needed.

🎉 Bayou Dog Sports Training Club had a busy weekend! Ronny, Kirby, Hannah, & Mikayla attended an AKC Scent Work trial hosted by the Louisiana Capital City Obedience Club. Austynn attended a hunt test hosted by the Colorado River Retriever Club. Brandi attended a FastCAT & CAT trial hosted by the Boxer Club of Louisiana.

💚 Ronny & Quest earned their overall Excellent title.

💜 Ronny & Kessel earned their Novice Containers, Novice Buried, & Novice Exterior titles.

💙 Kirby & Hugo earned their overall Advanced title.

🧡 Hannah & Izzy earned their overall Advanced title.

💛 Hannah & Bluff earned their Novice Interior title.

🖤 Mikayla & Olivia earned their first Q in Novice containers!

🤎 Austynn & Lace earned their Started title!

❤️ Brandi & Ginny ran a top speed of 25.4 mph in FastCAT. She also passed both of her CAT runs!

🏆 Each team also earned various placements throughout the weekend.

❔️ What are overall titles? In AKC Scent Work, you can earn individual titles in each primary element (Containers, Buried, Interior, & Exterior) within a class by qualifying 3 times in each element. Once you earn all 4 individual titles (12 Qs!) within a given class, you receive your overall class title (SWN, SWA, SWE, & SWM).

‼️ These teams have put in a lot of work & we are so proud of them ‼️

🌊 Now we cheer on Krystal with Zodiak & Phoenix as they head to NADD Nationals later this week!

🎉 Bayou Dog Sports Training Club is still at it! Any other BDS club members have some recent brags of their own?

💙 Kirby & Hugo raced in the Steeplechase Stampede hosted by North American Canicross. This was their 5th official canicross race since joining NACC earning them their NCD title!

🩷 Krystal & Phoenix competed in Distance Jump at the dock diving trial hosted by Mill Pond Kennels. Phoenix jumped a new personal best of 21.06'.

🩵 Krystal & Zodiak competed in Distance Jump at the dock diving trial hosted by Mill Pond Kennels. Zodiak had a top splash of 14.03' & he also earned his DJX title!

🤎 Austynn & Lace participated in hunt tests hosted by Lake Charles Hunting Retriever Club. Lace passed both tests!

❤️ Brandi & Ginny competed in an Obedience trial hosted by Deep South All Breed Obedience Training Club. Ginny earned another leg towards her Preferred Novice Obedience title.

💨 Last weekend, Bayou Dog Sports attended a FastCAT trial hosted by Acadiana Kennel Club & Running Dog Coursing in Arnaudville!

🎊 Several BDS club members & students also attended. We want to celebrate YOUR wins, too! Comment below & tell us how you did!

🐇 What is FastCAT? It's a 100-yard dash where dogs chase a lure, called a bunny, for time/speed!

💜 Ronny & Kessel ran FastCAT with a top speed of 30.1mph. Kessel's new personal best!

🩶 Kirby & Addie ran FastCAT with a top speed of 22.7mph.

💙 Kirby & Hugo ran FastCAT with a top speed of 24.0mph.

🖤 Mikayla & Olivia ran FastCAT with a top speed of 23.9mph. This was Olivia's first qualifying run!

💛 Hannah & Bluff ran FastCAT with a top speed of 25.9mph.
