Lucy had such a fun week during her boarding stay with me! 🐾

While she was here, her parents added on some training lessons — and she did amazing! She worked on sit, down, stay, and loose leash walking. She’s still practicing, but she’s off to a great start and will keep building on her skills at home with mom and dad. 💕

Outside of training, Lucy had plenty of adventures! She got to ride in a side-by-side, meet a goat 🐐, discover her new love for green beans 🥦, and make so many new friends. Such a smart, sweet girl — I loved having her here! ✨🐶

✨ Current Foster Pup Spotlight ✨

🐶 Lake from the BISSELL Pet Foundation 💙

I’ve had Lake for about 2 months now, and during that time she’s been going through heartworm treatment. That meant lots of rest time and slow leash walks at first (which was tough, because this girl has crazy zoomies 🏎️😂). Now she’s finally able to enjoy her walks a little more, and she’s loving the freedom!

Lake’s favorite things? Running on walks, snacks, and meal times. Oh — and showing off her goofy little teeth for the cutest pictures ever 😍🦷

We don’t know much about her past, but she’s definitely a girl with boundaries and a few fears. She’s nervous about the hose if it has a nozzle, but steady water doesn’t bother her. She’ll let you touch her paws, though nail trims are still a little “iffy.” With dogs, she does better in small doses — she’s okay for short playtimes but gets uneasy around male dogs. Lake is very good at letting you know her boundaries (sometimes with a quick nip), but she’s come such a long way already and continues to improve every day.

Indie is heartworm positive, but she’s already going through treatment and doing amazing! 💪🐾

She is the sweetest, cutest little lady you’ll ever meet. Indie gets along well with other pups but will politely let them know when they’re being a little too much!

🚗 Loves to ride shotgun
🛋️ Couch & bed snuggler
🍽️ Enjoys mealtime (does best eating in her kennel alone)
🐶 Crate trained & knows sit, shake, and stay!

🐾 The Dog Training Station is back in action! 🐾

We enjoyed a little time off, but now we’re ready to dive back into board or trains. We’re especially excited to welcome our next boarder and have some adorable photo sessions planned for all of our pups this month.

We can’t wait to see all of our boarders and continue helping them learn, grow, and shine! ✨🐶

✨ Welcome, Indie ✨

Last night, this sweet girl was thrown out of a car into someone’s yard… yes, you read that right. 💔

Thankfully, some amazing, kindhearted people were in the right place at the right time. They scooped her up, kept her safe, and reached out for help. Just a few hours ago, I picked her up—and I’ve already completely fallen in love. 💕

Meet Indie, our surprise foster and the newest member of the Take Paws Rescue family. She’s safe now, and she’ll never know anything but love, safety, and kindness for the rest of her days.

Her resilience already shines through, and we’re going to do everything we can to help her heal and find the forever home she truly deserves.

This sweet pup is starting his 2-week Board & Train journey! Over the next 14 days, we’ll be focusing on basic puppy manners, building up that recall, and helping him come out of his shell. 💪🌎

🐾 New Foster Alert – Meet Lake! 💙

This sweet girl was rescued by the awesome folks at BISSELL Pet Foundation and is now hanging out at Dog Training Station to work on her leash manners, nippy habits, and boost that confidence!

She’ll be with us for the next month (maybe longer!) while we help her blossom into the happy, well-mannered pup she’s meant to be. 🌼🐶
