Did you know it’s Veterinary Practice Manager Week?! 💙
We’re celebrating our lovely Manager, Jessica!
Scroll down to learn more about the person who keeps our hospital running smoothly behind the scenes and supports us every step of the way! 🐾👇Thank you Jess!! 🫶🏻 :
Jess never fails to put her heart into her job. Her outstanding compassion for people and their companions shines through each and every day.
Ever since childhood, Jess was determined to work with animals. Immediately after graduating high school, she went to college to study veterinary medicine. She graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in March 2014 and joined our Mountain Ridge family that June as a Registered Veterinary Technician. Shortly after that, she became the Lead RVT and led our team of Technicians for several years. She was then promoted to our Hospital Manager in 2021! Her love of animals was born early; as an only child, she found furry siblings in her family pets. She now finds companionship in her own pets, including an orange tabby cat named Skittles, and a Goldendoodle named Cider. Jess enjoys spending time with her husband, their daughter, pets, friends, and family. She lists camping, attending country concerts, dancing, exploring mountain towns, and traveling as some of her favorite activities. She is a Colorado native.
Tidbits and Trifles:
Adventure Elopement- The world shut down in 2020 right as Jess and her husband were supposed to have their wedding, so they spontaneously still kept their wedding date, road tripped to Telluride, CO and eloped, surrounded by nature with a gorgeous view! The only people present were their dog & the photographers. (Their dog Cider actually signed their marriage license with her pawprint as the witness, which is allowed in CO!). They were still able to celebrate and have their big wedding later on, and it made for a great story!
Green thumb – Jess enjoys taking care of indoor plants and an outdoor garden.
Guilty Pleasure- She admits that one of her favorite ways to wind down after a long day is to turn on one of The Bachelorette or Bachelor in Paradise TV Shows!
Pet names – Her pets are named after food/drinks in the tradition of her past pets/ family pets growing up: Tuna, Snickers, Chili, and Cayenne.
A Day in the Life:
What is your favorite part about your job?
“My favorite thing is that it has all just truly come full circle for me! Over the years of being a Vet Tech, I got to watch my patients grow up from puppies and kittens, to sweet seniors with their cute little grey faces- it is an honor to get to be a part of that journey. Now, I often chat with clients that have known me for years, that remember me as their past Vet Tech, and it helps me connect with them! ”
