On this day, 24 years ago today, the United States stood still. Our hearts shattered. Our feeling of being safe was gone. But there were heroes this day, two- and four-legged.

We will never forget.

**URGENT REQUEST**
I NEED A FOSTER OR A RESCUE.

This is Tails. Tails is 10 years old. Tails' person recently passed away, and his human siblings aren't able to keep him and will be taking him to the shelter on Tuesday.

Tails lived with 4 other dogs and 4 cats. He is incredibly sweet and just needs someplace to be while he mourns the loss of everything he's known.

If you can foster, please visit our website, www.idohr.org, and complete the foster application.

If your rescue can take him, PLEASE reach out to me. Tails has been through enough, and the last thing he needs is to die in a shelter.

Tails is currently in West Covina.

Just a reminder, make arrangements for your pets in the event of your death. Please don't assume that because your family loves you, they will honor you by taking your fur babies.

🚨 Frank’s Big (and Pricey) Adventure 🚨

Our sweet rescue bulldog, Frank, decided that today because it felt cooler, was the perfect day to strut his stuff at the dog park. Frank, being the bulldog that he is, went all in… and then crashed hard with a scary heat stroke.

When he arrived at Marqueen Emergency, his temperature was a terrifying 107 degrees, he was struggling to breathe, and his tongue had turned blue. He was immediately put on IV fluids, sedated, intubated (because his throat was swelling), and placed on oxygen. Thanks to the amazing emergency team, Frank’s temperature is now back to normal, his breathing tube has been removed, and he’s breathing on his own (still on oxygen just to be safe). Bloodwork is being run to make sure all his organs are okay.

The bill for Frank’s “dog park drama” is pushing $3,000—an expense we were not expecting.

We could really use your help covering this sudden cost. If you’d like to chip in:

Every dollar counts, and Frank promises to stick to “lounging only” for the foreseeable future. 🐾

Thank you so much for supporting him and our rescue! Please SHARE this far and wide!!❤️

Please help us welcome BOLT to the rescue!

This wildly smart, high-octane pup is all go, go, GO — his energy is permanently set at 100%! 🐾 Bolt is a total sweetheart, but make no mistake: he’s got that crazy puppy energy and needs a human who can keep up with his zoomies!

The great news? Bolt is SUPER trainable! He already knows some commands and is eager to learn more. He loves other dogs and would thrive in a home with a playful canine buddy… but be warned: he doesn’t always know when to chill. 😅

Bolt is:
✅ Great with other dogs
✅ Good on leash
✅ Loves kids (older ones preferred)
✅ Working on his potty skills (hey, nobody's perfect!)

With the right person to guide him, Bolt will absolutely grow into the bestest boy. 💙

**UPDATE**

Winnie has been returned to his original rescue Gunter's Legacy Animal Rescue, Inc., and is available for adoption.

This is not a reflection on any issues with Winnie, he's a dog in transition and adjusting well, he just needed the right foster. Once we figured that out, it seemed right to allow them to keep him.

If you are interested in adopting Winnie, please reach out to his rescue. Gunter's Legacy Animal Rescue, Inc.

Please help us welcome… wait for it… wait for it… WINNIE!

And, surprise this Winnie is a boy! 💙

Winnie's beloved "humom" passed away, leaving him heartbroken. A friend of hers stepped up to care for him, but after a short time, she considered having him euthanized. Thankfully, the vet refused and reached out to my sister’s rescue for help.

After a few weeks, it became clear that Winnie would thrive best in a home where he could get more one-on-one attention. That’s when I thought of a wonderful friend who had recently lost her own Shih Tzu. Though still mourning, she understood exactly what Winnie was going through — and graciously opened her heart and home to foster him.

Winnie is 12 years young and full of life! He lives for toys, belly rubs, and especially treats — this boy has a serious snack obsession. He’s also got that signature Shih Tzu sass and had his new foster home wrapped around his paw in less than 24 hours.
He’s house-trained, walks well on a leash, and is just an all-around fantastic pup.

Winnie does require daily eye medication for those big, beautiful peepers and pain meds for arthritis, but he doesn’t let any of that slow him down.
If you're interested in adopting this charming little king, please visit our website at www.idohr.org.

Let’s find Winnie the forever home he deserves! 🐾

***ADOPTED***

Please Help Us Welcome... Ms. Winnie!
(Okay, it’s just Winnie, but once you meet her, you’ll understand the “Ms.” — she carries herself like a little lady!)
Winnie was found in the middle of a busy intersection, wearing a dirty harness that had been put on backwards, with a leash dragging behind her. 💔 Despite efforts to find her family, no one came forward.
But Winnie hasn’t let her rough start dull her sparkle! ✨ This sweet girl is now thriving in her foster home. She’s great with other dogs, loves kids, is playful, and yes, she’s house-trained too!
Winnie has been fully vetted, spayed, and microchipped and is now ready to find a forever home that will treat her like the gem she is.
If you're interested in adopting Ms. Winnie, please visit our website at www.idohr.org.
Let’s help this little lady find the happily-ever-after she so deserves! 🐾

🚨 Found Dog – Needs a Foster & Help With Vet Costs 🚨

Yesterday, I was contacted about a small dog found alone in front of an elementary school in Ontario. The kind person who found this pup didn’t want to take them to the shelter and somehow got ahold of my number — and I’m so glad they did.

We’re calling this pup Dusty (a sweet unisex name), because there were no tags, collar, or microchip to identify them. For the sake of verifying ownership, we’re not sharing Dusty’s gender publicly — if an owner comes forward, they’ll need to provide that info.

As you know, I Dream of Home Rescue is a foster-based rescue, which means we can't take in dogs without a committed foster home. But in urgent cases like this, we do everything we can to keep pups out of the shelter.

Dusty appears to be a senior, around 12–14 years old, with burned and raw paw pads, matted fur, and severe dental disease. We were able to secure a boarding spot for Dusty after an exam at our vet, but this wasn’t an expected expense — and we need your help.

❤️ Can you open your heart and home to foster Dusty?
Every day in a loving home makes a world of difference. If you can foster please visit our website at www.idohr.org and complete an application.

💵 Can you help us cover the cost of vet care and boarding?
Every donation helps and is tax-deductible.
