Dogs Day Away is hiring a kennel technician!
Full-time availability is preferred but will consider part-time applicants.
Applicants must be at least 18 Yrs of age and have reliable transportation. Must be available weekends and holidays. Schedule hours may vary. (5:30am-8:30pm - 7 days a week). Must be willing and able to work outdoors all times of year. Must be capable of lifting 40lbs.
Pay rate: DOE - please note this is an entry-level position.
Employees are compensated based upon experience and overall job performance. There is a bonus plan in place for employees after their initial 90 day probationary period.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Cleaning, Disinfecting and maintaining animal kennels, play yard areas and any related equipment. Sanitizing bowls, utensils and laundry.
- Provides for the overall health and care of dogs by feeding, watering, and bathing/brushing animals when needed.
⁃ Giving medications/supplements as directed.
⁃ Interacting with pets and providing playtime enrichment.
⁃ Monitoring dogs for any behavioral or health changes while in Dogs Day Away care.
⁃ Monitoring outdoor play times to ensure animal safety.
⁃ Reception duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, verifying vaccinations, collecting payments and data entry into our software system.
⁃ Monitoring dog body language to determine less stressful ways to handle pets.
⁃ Implement all Company policies regarding vaccinations and handling of pets
