NOW HIRING FOR 2025 SUMMER SEASON!

Join a hard-working crew with a great sense of humor and have fun riding (but not nose to tail!) and making good money this summer!
The Rusty Spurr Ranch is looking to add ONE wrangler to our crew for the 2025 summer season.
To apply, read the entire post and submit the requirements (end of post) to the email address [email protected]
Please do not apply via Facebook Messenger
You can also view more info here https://www.rustyspurr.com/employment/
All applicants must be legal and emotional adults, eligible for employment in the US and have strong horsemanship and customer service skills. This is not the position to get you started in the industry.
We offer guided cattle drives (typically run a mix of 150-200 yearling steers and bulls) and our trail rides are not nose to tail, so this job is much more engaging than the "typical trail guide" job!
Wranglers have many opportunities to employ and improve their horsemanship as they help finish horses for our program.
Our wranglers typically find this to be one of the highest paying riding jobs they've ever had.
Check us out on TripAdvisor, FB and Google to see what people think of our operation. The fact that we let our guests "Get outta line" really makes it a much more enjoyable and engaging experience for both staff and guests!
Our off-the-grid ranch is located about 3 miles South of Kremmling, Colorado. We ride in an environment that ranges from wide open, high country sage to rugged mountain terrain covered in pine and aspen forests. We run cattle drives and non-nose-to-tail trail rides 5-6 days per week on about 10,000 acres of combined public and private ground.
We do not host any overnight guests, so you will always have your evenings (after 5 or 6) to yourself and we do provide free, private (NOT SHARED) housing for our wranglers.
We cannot accommodate pets or family housing.
The job starts in early to mid-May and will finish in mid-late August, with the possibility of extending to the end of September if desired/needed. We can be a bit flexible on dates for the right applicant.
All wranglers are expected to help with any and all chores around the ranch such as feeding, tack repair, fence work, trail work or anything else related to the ranch and its operations.
We are seeking well-spoken, self-motivated, fun, team players with a strong background both with horses and people (cow experience is a bonus but not a necessity) and a strong work ethic. We have no room for idlers or wallflowers.
Compensation:
Pay is DOE. Comprised of hourly wage (overtime paid over 40 hours) plus tips. Conservative range from $150-$300/day. 5 days/week and approximately 10 hours per day.
Wranglers may bring 1 horse, but it must be usable (no projects!) to guide rides (safe and sound). If these criteria are met, the ranch will cover shoes and board. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate pets.
As mentioned previously, free (above and beyond pay) housing is offered but not required if you prefer to live off premises.
All wranglers who fulfill their commitment for the season will receive an end of season gift with our brand along with a paycheck bonus.
Application requirements (submitted to [email protected]):
1. A cover letter telling us a little about yourself, why this position appeals to you and what you think qualifies you for the position (tell us what you've done).
2. A complete resume or work history (show us what you've done).
3. A recent picture or two of yourself.
4. Dates available to work.
5. Dates and times available for a phone interview.
