It’s not just about weight; it can be a matter of life or emergency care. Overfeeding or underfeeding can lead to serious health issues:
🐶 Dogs: Too much can cause obesity, diabetes, or pancreatitis (a painful, sometimes life-threatening condition). Too little? Malnutrition, weakness, or even organ problems.
🐱 Cats: Extra nibbles can add up to obesity and diabetes, while insufficient food can trigger hepatic lipidosis, a serious liver emergency.
💡 Tip: Follow feeding guidelines, then adjust with your vet based on your pet’s body condition. You should be able to feel ribs, but not see them.
