Last week, our team from Family Pet Clinic -- Christine Wiggins , Dr. Glori Brownstein, and Sydney Miller -- had the chance to visit Hand2Paw and sit down with Devon (Hand2Paw's Program Manager) and Sydney (Hand2Paw's Program Facilitator) to hear firsthand what this program means to the young people in it.
Hand2Paw works with youth aged 15 to 24 who want to build careers in animal welfare and veterinary medicine. And they've watched the same thing happen, over and over: a kid walks in hesitant, unsure of themselves, and walks out six months later knowing exactly why they want to be in this field.
Something Devon said has stayed with us: "There is no animal welfare without human welfare."
That's the kind of thinking that reminds all of us why we got into this profession. At VPP, we believe the future of veterinary medicine belongs in the hands of the people who love it most -- the veterinary professionals, the communities they serve, and the next generation stepping up to carry it forward.
So grateful for partners like Hand2Paw who are building that future, one young person at a time. Thank you so much for having us!
