Four days in Colorado Springs at RESTORE.

RESTORE is a wellbeing retreat VPP runs for partners, associate doctors, practice managers, and Home Team leaders. Thirty people spend four days on spirit, mind, and body.

Veterinary teams carry a lot that never gets said out loud. The hard cases, the staffing, the payroll, the quiet expectation that someone will be the steady one in the building. RESTORE is four days where none of that is the subject and the person is.

A partner, a practice manager, and a medical director all came home saying a version of the same thing. Swipe through and read it in their words.

VPP has been awarded America's Greatest Workplaces by Newsweek for 2026. 🎉

The recognition spans three categories: America's Greatest Workplaces in Health Care, America's Greatest Workplaces for Women, and America's Greatest Workplaces by State in California, Florida, and Pennsylvania.

"An award like this reflects what happens in our hospitals every day. It's doctors practicing medicine they believe in and staff believing in their practice," said Rich Pacheco, COO of VPP. “This award is a recognition of all their care and service to our patients, clients and each other.“

Thank you to our teams for the care you bring every day.

Big thanks to our team at Stevenson Village Veterinary Hospital for hosting an Anesthesia Monitoring Training last week!

Assistants and technicians from five different VPP hospitals spent the day getting hands-on with the anesthesia machine and the vitals that matter most during surgery: heart rate and EKG, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, temperature, and end tidal CO2.

Joining Stevenson Village were Caring Hands Animal Hospital in Rockville, Annapolis Cat Hospital, Festival Veterinary Clinic, and Fallston Veterinary Clinic.

Under any other circumstance, these five teams likely never would have met. They practice in different towns, serve different communities, and rarely have reason to cross paths. Being part of VPP put them in the same room, comparing notes and passing along what they have each learned in their own surgical suites. Every skill traded that day goes back to a hospital and shows up in better care for patients.

Dr. Nonie Reger's path to ownership didn't start with a business plan. It started as an associate at Short Pump Animal Hospital in Richmond, VA, where she grew into the practice, the team, and the community around her. When the opportunity came to buy in as a co-owner alongside the doctors already in the partnership, she took it.

That's one of the ways VPP makes ownership accessible: through an established hospital with an existing client base, an experienced team, and a foundation already in place. You don't have to build from scratch. You grow with people who've been at this together.

What VPP gave her alongside ownership was something she didn't expect: access to a community, collaboration with veterinarians across the country, and support from marketing, strategy, and business teams that vets simply don't encounter in school.

"My favorite part of being a partner with VPP is the community and the collaboration we have with other veterinarians, but also different teams that we didn't have access to before: marketing teams, strategy teams that have all these skills and knowledge that you don't have in vet school."

"VPP has helped me with leadership development. I was not a leader at all before given this opportunity."

And when we sat down with her, she spoke about VPP Peer Groups: gatherings of practice owners and medical directors from across the country sharing what's working, troubleshooting challenges, and raising the standard of care together. "It's just great to be in a community that's all trying so hard to just be creating wonderful quality medicine for their patients."

Dr. Reger's legacy goal is simple: to be someone who was successful and truly cared about her patients. VPP is helping her build exactly that.

Big news out of Creve Coeur — Fox Creek Veterinary Hospital is officially open! 🎉

This is Fox Creek's fourth hospital in the St. Louis area and VPP's third De Novo build with the practice, made possible by the support, resources, and hard work of the whole VPP community standing behind it. It also marks the first time Dr. Emmi Scott and Dr. Taylor Scott are stepping into significant ownership of a hospital of their own.

Dr. Emmi Scott shared this note with our community:
"Fox Creek Creve Coeur is finally becoming not just a dream but reality!—we are opening our hearts to the pets and families who will become part of ours. This hospital was built with a simple purpose: to provide compassionate care, support families through every stage of their pet's life, and create a place where both people and animals feel welcomed, valued, and loved.

This moment would not be possible without the dedication, hard work, and belief of our incredible team and partners at VPP and the support of our community. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to earn your trust and to be there for your pet's happiest moments, challenges, and everything in between.

Thank you for celebrating this milestone with us. We are honored to begin this journey and look forward to caring for your beloved companions!"
— Dr. Emmi Scott

There are moments in your kids' lives you can't get back. Dr. Haley Webster knew that, and she knew something had to change.

As a practice owner, she was wearing every hat. Great at the medicine. Not trained for the marketing, the data, the business side. And carrying all of it alone was costing her time she couldn't afford to lose.

Partnering with VPP changed that.

"VPP has allowed me the freedom in my schedule to be able to be a good mom, and be present for those moments in life that I'm not going to be able to replicate."

If you're a practice owner and a parent who feels like you're constantly choosing between the two, partnership might be what gives you both back.

VPP by the Numbers, installment three.

35+ De Novos built and counting.

A De Novo is a practice built from the ground up, no acquisition, no existing foundation. Just a vision and the team to make it real. We've done it 35 times and we're not slowing down.

If you've ever thought about building something from scratch, we'd love to talk. Visit our website to learn more.

Numbers don't tell the whole story. But this one? Worth sharing.

Before opening Green Family Veterinary Practice, Dr. John Green was a chief of staff. He still practiced four days a week, but spent a significant chunk of his time driving around to other clinics as an advisor. It wasn't what he'd built his career for.

He wanted his own practice, built around his culture, his team, and his vision.

He looked at other partnership models to make it happen. Most of them offered a percentage, a little buy-in, and no real say in how things would run. It would have been branded as someone else's entity. That wasn't ownership. That wasn't the dream.

Then a car hit him while he was training on his bike in August. Statistically, he shouldn't be here. But he is, and it made him stop waiting. He signed shortly after, was in construction by December, and opened Green Family Veterinary Practice in Warrenville, IL the following July.

He built it the way he wanted to run it, with the team he wanted around him and the culture he envisioned from day one.

For Dr. Green, the dream practice isn't just about the building. It's about hiring around core values so that coming to work feels good for everyone, and clients and patients feel that harmony the moment they walk in. Cat patients go to cat-specific rooms. Dogs go the opposite direction into their own spaces. Every team member knows the flow. That intentionality doesn't disappear when things get busy. He's already seen it: when the day gets hectic, his team thrives.

He chose this path knowing it was bigger than just him. Part of the vision was always building a road for the next generation of partners, so that veterinary medicine stays in the hands of veterinary professionals.

That's what legacy looks like.
