(TLC) is a non-profit, all breed, foster based, no-kill rescue operating in Chester County, PA. Our mission is to rescue and find permanent homes for abandoned, stray and surrendered dogs in order to minimize the needless euthanizing of animals. TLC was born in the spring of 2013 when our eight founding members decided they wanted to combine their collective experience in pet rescue and community service into one organization. We have a mutual passion, and a unified vision, for saving dogs as well as a thirst to educate the community on reducing the number of dogs needing rescue. At TLC, bonding with our dogs is very important. Rather than going to a shelter where they often become depressed and withdrawn, our dogs join us in our warm, comfortable homes where they thrive with attention and love. As soon as dogs arrive in our foster homes, we begin house training when necessary, and work on basic manners. Our dedicated foster families socialize and interact with the dogs to learn their strengths and understand their challenges. It is important to evaluate personality and temperament of our dogs to better facilitate placement in homes in which their needs and the family’s lifestyle and experience are in alignment. Our dogs receive an enormous amount of love and the medical attention necessary to ensure good health. TLC dogs are spayed or neutered, and brought up to date on shots appropriate for their age. They are also micro chipped prior to being placed in their new homes. It is our goal to connect devoted families to loving dogs in need of their everlasting home. We believe in being very honest with our potential adopters and we present everything we learn about our rescues in order to make sure we have a successful adoption. Additionally, TLC foster families and associated trainers will work with adoptive families to ensure a smooth transition and help facilitate additional support and training that may be needed to create and maintain a stable and happy home for our dogs. From puppies to seniors, there is a perfect dog out there for everyone. We pride ourselves on making the right connection between dog and family in order to give our dogs their final, joyful, loving home. Ultimately, our wish would be for empty shelters so no dog is left behind.

This sweet 70-pound Cattle Dog mix is a total love bug who adores belly rubs, car rides, and the occasional ice cube treat. She's housetrained, crate trained, great on a leash, and ready to make some happy tails of her very own.

🐝🎃 Trick or treat? Rambo's going with treat. Always treat.

Our favorite busy boy suited up as a bumblebee this year, and honestly? Nailed it. Rambo spends his days buzzing around the house with a stuffy in his mouth, making friends with everyone he meets. Kids are his absolute favorite people, especially the ones willing to throw a ball.

He's a 1-year-old, 17 lb Dachshund/Poodle mix who's crate trained, dog friendly, and ready to bee somebody's sweetest Halloween treat. 🍯

Bat-tastic news: Happy Camper is looking for his furever home! 🦇🎃

This 1-year-old, 46 lb Shepherd/Lab Mix was abandoned at a busy campground, but there's nothing scary about this guy. He's a snuggly, goofy shadow who loves car rides, fetch, and his foster dog siblings. He's housebroken and a crate superstar.

The only thing he's haunting is your heart. 👻 Give him a home and the happy tails will follow!

🐾 OCTOBER IS PIT BULL AWARENESS MONTH 🐾

Let's help break the stigma surrounding these amazing dogs! ❤️

Pit Bull-type dogs are often judged by labels, misconceptions, and stereotypes before they ever get the chance to show us who they really are. But there's so much more to these dogs than their appearance or breed label.

Some love canine companions, while others prefer being the only dog. Some are energetic adventure buddies, while others are happy to spend the day lounging by your side. Every dog has their own personality, preferences, and needs just like any other breed.

That's why we're using today to share a few facts, challenge common misconceptions, and introduce you to some of our very own ADOPTABLE Pit Bull-type dogs!

These dogs deserve to be seen as individuals, not defined by stereotypes. They deserve the same opportunity as any other dog to be known, loved, and chosen.

💙 October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month. And some of the dogs who need us most never make it out of a shelter without help.

At TLC Rescue, we’re 100% foster-based. That means you see our dogs in loving homes, playing with their foster siblings, snuggling on the couch, discovering their favorite toys, and showing off the personalities that make them so special. 🐾

But that’s not where their stories begin.

Most of our dogs come from rural Mississippi, where shelters are overflowing, resources are scarce, and euthanasia for space is a daily reality. In communities where open-intake shelters have limited funding and more dogs than they can possibly care for, being out of time can mean losing your life simply because there’s nowhere else to go.

For so many of these dogs, a photo like the ones we share every day once seemed impossible.

They needed someone to say yes. They needed a safe place to land. And thanks to our incredible fosters, volunteers, donors, and supporters, we can give them that chance. ❤️

When you adopt a TLC foster dog, you get to know the dog behind the photos. You learn about their personality, how they’re adjusting to life in a home, and what makes them feel safe and happy. They may even have a head start on housebreaking, crate training, and obedience.

But the impact of your adoption goes beyond the dog who comes home with you.

You save TWO lives. 🐶❤️🐶

The dog you adopt gets a family and a future. And the space you open in a foster home allows us to say YES to another dog still waiting in an overcrowded shelter. Another life that might otherwise be lost. Another story that gets the chance to have a happy ending.

So, this Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, here's how you can help:

🏡 Adopt: Open your heart and home to a shelter or rescue dog.

🐾 Foster: Give a dog a safe place to land while they wait for their forever family. Your home could be the reason they get out alive.

💙 Spread the word: Share their stories. Talk about the overcrowding. Help others understand why rescue matters. Even if adopting or fostering isn't right for you right now, you can still make a difference.

We may not be a shelter, but shelter dogs are the reason so many of our stories begin. And every happy ending starts with someone willing to give a dog a chance.

This little witch is casting one spell: "adopt me!" 🧙‍♂️ Sessum is a 10 lb Chihuahua mix who's crate trained, housebroken, and the ultimate couch companion. Give him a cozy blanket to burrow in and a human to snuggle, and he's one happy pup. He'd love a home with no cats and is just waiting for his forever family.
