Adopt Riley! 😍
We just LOVE this big girl! She's adjusted so well to living in a home, being loved and feeling safe. As soon as she saw a new person on the couch visiting for Christmas, she jumped right up next to him for snuggles and immediately gave sweet kisses! She's a major lovebug! 🥰
Riley came from the streets of Marlin, one of the trashiest towns in TX. A place where their city shelter was shut down after animal lovers found emaciated dogs living in their own filth in outdoor kennels. City officials don't even have the decency to care for animals in the shelter, let alone in the streets. Riley was left abandoned in the streets, at the mercy of strangers, to care for herself and her 4 puppies. 🙁
We pulled the whole family and were able to send the 4 puppies up to Montana where they've all been adopted. Riley, this brave, sweet girl, is now hoping to find a loving family of her own. 🙏
We think Riley is around 3 years old. She's roughly 65 lbs. She's spayed, vaccinated, on prevention and microchipped. If Riley could snuggle with you on the couch all day long, she would. She's all about nap time, belly rub time, snuggle time, shower me with all your love time, so long as the couch is involved. 🛋🐶
Riley has moments of playfulness but she isn't at all interested in a high energy playmate. 30 seconds of zoomies, trotting along the fenceline with a pal, and a quick dance with her chill buddies is about all the playfulness she enjoys. The more rambunctious teenagers are met with a stiff correction so we put Riley out with a more mature crowd who share a similar low energy vibe. 💓
In general, Riley really just wants to be inside relaxing and enjoying the perks of a loving home. She crates very well with us now but she did need a lot of treats and encouragement to go into her crate when we first got her. She'd probably be perfectly happy to be in a home where no crate was needed. Families who don't allow pets on the furniture need not apply. 🙅♀️
