This bundle of sweetness is Petunia and she is available for adoption at the Kewanee Shelter. Petunia came to us as a stray that was never claimed and we just can’t understand why. She loves people and belly rubs! And treats, she loves them but takes them so gently. Petunia went for her first long walk at the Shelter this weekend and did a great job! Visiting hours are 8-11:00am and 4-6:00pm everyday.

9-year old Baby is Tabby and is very docile. He is neutered but not up-to-date on his shots. He is a strict indoor cat and loves to be petted. He earned his name because he sounds like a baby when he wants attention. I am a senior that cannot any longer give him the attention he craves and deserves.

What a difference foster care can make in the life of a Shelter animal. This little kitten was brought in as a very scared stray and she is already settling in with her foster momma. ❤️🐾❤️

Devin is still looking for a loving home. His adoption fee has been sponsored so no adoption fee with an approved application. Devin looks forward to countryside outings! He walks fairly well on leash, he just needs a little practice and is very treat motivated. And did I mention he takes treats very gently from your hand? ❤️🐾❤️

Apollo: Neutered male, suspected chiweenie/feist. Black and brown.

Phoebe: spayed female, chihuahua/feist. Tan and white. Both are estimated to be around 8 years old.

We suspect they were abused as puppies, which may contribute to barking or food aggression. If you can or are willing to be patient with them, they’re lapdogs at heart.

They are real sweethearts, except at mealtimes Apollo gets food aggressive. They would probably do best in homes where they’re the only pet. They love to be held and given good night kisses, and they’re kennel trained.

June shelter needs are: urgent needs are canned dog food, large boxes of baking soda, disinfecting wet wipes and floor cleaner like Mr Clean or Lysol. Other items needed- peanut butter, paper towels, laundry detergent and Purina cat chow complete(blue bag)
