Wildfire season is part of living in Idaho, and a little preparation ahead of time can make emergencies safer and less stressful for both pets and people.

We put together a few simple wildfire pet safety tips to help families prepare before smoke or evacuation situations happen, including:
• Building a pet emergency kit
• Preparing for evacuation
• Recognizing signs of smoke exposure
• Knowing when to contact a veterinarian

At Habitat, we also have emergency preparedness plans in place to help support pets in our community during rapidly changing wildfire situations.

Caring for pets takes connection, collaboration, and adaptability… and sometimes that means joining meetings virtually!

Dr. Linenberger lives in Boise with his family, but spends much of his time in Ketchum supporting local pets and the veterinary team here in the valley.

Whether he’s physically in the hospital helping patients or joining meetings and overseeing remodel updates remotely, his commitment to this community stays the same. 🐾
