We have straight run chicks available TODAY!From green/blue/ or dark brown eggs.

Also I decided to try an experiment fast planting strawberry bare root plants along one of the orchard rows. 100ish plants planted. I laid them on the ground next to the mulched row, put some compost on top, then leaves. We shall see how it goes!

Also I have 1 dozen of duck hatching eggs available TODAY!

First 2 batches of chicks have entirely sold out!!

Thank you for supporting our oldest Farm Entrepreneur chick hatching!

Please let us know if you have future chick needs. We have a lot in the incubator but I think most are for us. (The incubator can hold 24 DOZEN chicken eggs, slightly less duck eggs).

In the works, 13 ducklings hatched last week. I also bought 15 copper maran eggs to hatch. We set a second batch of duck eggs. Plus swapped eggs from 2 different people to get some new genes in our flock (so 3 people if you count the copper marans).

Exciting times on the farm.

Pray these two sheep do well. We had a prolapse mama that we've been watching and she finally had her babies today.

Bless Madeline. She's a better farmer than me (Amy) I held the sheep while she pulled one that was half out and then ended up pulling the other AND checking to make sure there weren't anymore.

We have held her so both got colostrum but mama hasn't shown any interest yet.

We were out spreading biochar/compost and had to take down all the electric netting in back pasture.

Chickens and dogs in slightly different configuration and it looks so good!

We also put the netting all the way around them, vs some of the field fence (that they could get thru) so hopefully no more yard chickens and daily "egg hunt" (see end photos of weird places I've found them).

Also....even the roosters sometimes get snuggled here. 🤣 NOT by me. 🤣🤣🤣

What's going on on the farm?

All things Chicken at the moment. 🥚🐓🐔🐤🐣🐥🍳

I know eggs are quite pricey at the store at the moment and we would like to offer you *FOUR* ways we can help.

1. 🥚🍳 pasture raised organically fed (no soy) eggs $5 per dozen. Porch Pickup preferred in Kelso TN or Meridianville AL. Also can meet at the rec center in Tullahoma when kids are doing swim team.

2. 🐥🐣🐤 day old straight run chicks hatching weekly for next 3 weeks. (Chicks available as soon as tomorrow!). Brown/cream egg hatch $2.50 each, green/blue egg hatch $3 each. 6 chick minimum.

3. 🐔🐓 starter flocks! Prices/quanities will vary. The chickens will be about 2 years old. Fed non gmo no soy feed from chick and fed organic no soy since July 2024.

4. 🥚🥚🥚 hatching eggs. Fancy hatching some eggs yourself? For an addition dollar per dozen we will save you the freshest eggs and have them all pointy end down for best hatch rate. Take home and try your hand at hatching eggs. No promises on hatch rates as everyones equipment and skills will vary.

Effective Feb 1: Egg price is now $5 a dozen.

We are feeding only organic feed and whatever they can find on pasture since June (and before was non gmo feed). We waited until we felt the chickens were well past fully transitioned to the organic feed to raise the cost.

I hope you will continue to think of us when you are looking for eggs. Now and whenever the egg crazy at the grocery store has died down. 🥰

Also Madeline will have 12 day old straight run chicks from green/blue eggs and 4 dozen day old straight run chicks from brown egg February 25.

She will try to continue having new stock of day old chicks on Tuesdays thru march.

Please let us know if you would like to reserve any hatch dates. $3 a green/blue egg chick and $2.50 a brown egg chick.

Send me all the tips for single digits and lambs. Trying to figure out best way to protect them from the extreme weather next week.
