Fourth of July is one of the top holidays that pets run off, & get lost due to the Fireworks.

Some tips to keep your pet safe include: medication, making sure their microchip information is up-to-date, they have a collar with their name, & information, as well as making sure all doors and windows are locked. Another helpful tip is keeping the TV or a radio on to block out some of the outside noise.

Today we celebrate the Mother’s who’ve been mothers for years, the Mother’s who are celebrating their first Mother’s Day, the Mother’s who are celebrating their first Mother’s Day alone, the Mother’s who are missing someone they love, the Fur/Scale/Feather Mother’s, the Mother’s who are struggling. Today brings us to our “final 4” team members who we asked the question, “why are you in Vet Med?”, & here are their responses.

Maria is a bilingual addition to our Assistant superhero team and a vital part of our hospital! Maria is always there to lend a hand, listen when you need a friend, & most importantly always putting our patients needs before her own. Maria spends her time outside of work with her Shih Tzu Sally, & her family. She’s enrolled at Farleigh Dickinson University majoring in Biology, & minoring in Chemistry, & Medical Humanities. Maria is a sweet soul, who we’re incredibly lucky to know, & love. 👩🏻‍🔬

Brianna is a bilingual addition to our Assistant Superhero team! Bri is forever making us laugh, & being our #1 hype girl, & has been a fun loving, big hearted, & integral addition to our team. Bri enjoys playing Fortnite, traveling, trying out new restaurants with her friends, & listening to music. Bri has 2 cats; a rag doll, Bebo, & a good ol’ street cat, Benji. She also has a Yorkie Mix, Honey, & a Shih Tzu, Suzy! Bri found us when Suzy was sick with bladder stones & needed a cystotomy; a surgery to remove these stones before they cause more damage! We’re forever grateful for Suzy connecting her family to our family at ADCH. 👾

Natasha is multitasking assistant superhero, who helps out our CSR team when they need a helping hand, or paw! Tash has a passion for sports, mostly soccer & when she’s not at ADCH she can be found on the soccer field coaching her team to a big W or watching professional teams! She also has a deep seated passion for her Irish roots, & her two dogs; Axel a Mastiff, & Avery a Great Dane. “300 lbs of dog!”, as she lovingly describes them! ☘️

Melissa is a bilingual, cross-trained member of both the customer service & vet assistant teams! She is the third, & final member on the Health Certificate hero team & loves finalizing your pet travel plans! She has a strong passion for shelter medicine & works with a mobile spay & neuter clinic. She is fully committed to her Bolivian roots & can frequently be found dancing or celebrating with her Bolivian born groups! She is also a cat mom to, Jaitarata, aka, “box cat”.🦙

HAPPY VETERINARY RECEPTIONIST, & VETERINARY ASSISTANT WEEK! 🎉🩺🐾

Throughout the week we will be spotlighting different team members - we asked them all one question, “why are you in Vet Med?”, and here are their responses.

Valentina is one of our bilingual veterinary assistants. She has dreams of one day becoming a veterinarian! She loves her bulldogs; Snooki, & Kahlua, her bearded dragon, & her dad’s rehabbed young squirrel! 🐿️

Andrea is part of our Customer service team, & also bilingual! Andrea always keeps us on our toes with her silly antics, and knows just how to keep us smiling or laughing throughout the day. When she’s not at work she can be found jet setting around Europe. Whether it be with family, or friends, Andrea’s always enjoying her time exploring Mother Nature! 🗺️

Crystie is the head honcho when it comes to our customer service team! With a constant smile, and bubbly personality Crystie is our “go-to-gal” for any, and all front desk questions! Crystie has been a staple at ADCH for many years, & although she left for a bit to explore Florida living she came back to us, and we’re so incredibly thankful she did! Without Crystie we’d be lost - she’s a true friend to all she meets both humans, and animals alike! When Crystie’s not at ADCH she can be found spending her time with family, or enjoying the Florida sunshine when life allows! ☀️

HAPPY VETERINARY RECEPTIONIST, & VETERINARY ASSISTANT WEEK! 🎉🩺🐾

Throughout the week we will be spotlighting different team members - we asked them all one question, “why are you in Vet Med?”, and here are their responses.

Sara is part of our Customer Service team and can be found most days at the front desk with a smile on her face or her loud, distinguishable laugh. Sara has a passion for arachnids and reptiles, and has quite a personal “collection”! With close to 200 spiders (😱🕷️) it’s safe to say she’s the expert! Sara also enjoys spending her time rockin’ out at concerts, or getting some crazy cool tattoos! Sara is also 1 of the 3 Health Certificate Heroes and can help with most travel questions! 🐍

Bella enjoys spending her free time going to concerts, and hiking with her dogs! When she’s not out enjoying the world she can be found hanging out with her friends, or her ferret! Bella always keeps our belly’s laughing with the antics she comes up with, and the things that come out of her mouth. We’re all thankful for Bella keeping our lives light when our jobs become a little too hard. Bella is also bilingual, and one of our Portuguese speaking assistants! 🇵🇹

Vanessa is 1/10 of our Veterinary Assistant Super Hero team! Vanessa enjoys spending her time listening to music, hanging out with her family, & snuggling up with her two Shih Tzu’s; Rico and Brandi! Vanessa is one of our two assistants who has an affinity for wildlife and takes pride in trying to better their lives. Vanessa has a true heart of gold, & only wants to see animals of all kinds taken care of, living their best lives. 🐿️

Karly, & Klaudia are members of our Super Hero Veterinary Assistant team.

Karly is completely dedicated to all things Pug, as you can tell from her bio! When Karly’s not thinking about Pugs she can be found snuggled up with her dogs reading on her kindle, listening to (she’s a BIG ol’ Swiftie), or rewatching one of her favorite shows - The Office, & New Girl just to name a few. 🤓

Klaudia has been a vital part of ADCH for a few years now, & can always be found with a big smile on her face. When Klaudia isn’t at work you can find her surfing or at the beach, if the weather allows! Klaudia has the sweetest soul and truly puts her heart into everything she does both at work and in “the real world”. Klaudia loves all dogs but has a special fondness for Golden Retrievers, can you blame her?! 🐚

Crystal is the newest member to our Customer Service Representative Rockstar Team. To say we are grateful for her to be our newest addition is truly an understatement. Crystal is always willing and ready to help our patients, & their family when they’re in need; all with a smile on her face, and lots of love in her heart. Crystal is always making us laugh, and keeps a smile on our faces with her genuine spirit, and good nature! 🐈

HAPPY VETERINARY RECEPTIONIST, & VETERINARY ASSISTANT WEEK! 🎉🩺🐾

Nicole & Shannon are a vital members of our Customer Service Representative team.

Nicole has a passion for Pitbull advocacy, and when she’s not spending time with her beloved boy, Pete, she can be found at numerous venues listening to some of her favorite bands.

Shannon is our Turtle Queen. If any one of our team members sees anything turtle related we’re sure to be thinking of Shannon! Shannon’s other passion is photography and when she’s not at work, she can be found with a camera in her hand. Shannon is also one of our three Health Certificate Heroes! If you’re in need of travel paperwork Shannon’s your girl!

Vivian is 1/10th of the glue that holds our Veterinary Assistant team together. Vivian is a true light at ADCH, and never fails to put a smile on our faces. Her passion for veterinary medicine truly shines through in her day to day actions, & we are so grateful to have her on our team. Vivian is currently taking pre-vet med classes towards her ultimate goal of one day becoming a veterinarian. We can only hope that once she fulfills her dream she’ll come back to practice at Arlington Dog & Cat Hospital.

Bonesy the Boxer Mix, Gouda the Golden Retriever, Zoe the French Bulldog, & Medea the Bulldog Mix have all come in in the last few weeks for annual exams to update vaccines, and confirm a clean bill of health is still true!

Is your pet up to date on their annual vaccines, & lab work? Annual labs are always a good thing to have done to compare baseline values so we can see if anything is increasing slowly throughout the years, or drastically since a previous visit. Yearly lab work helps us catch disease processes sooner rather than later hopefully giving you, & us more time with your pet.
