WHAT A WEEKEND!! 🎉💚💙

Everyone is headed home after a wild, exciting, and VERY successful first Champs as a full team! We had SO much good happen this weekend that there’s no way we could possibly fit it all into one post, but here are some of the highlights!

💙🖤First, a HUGE thank you to Jess Ann with One Vision for joining us with Griff and Nela so we could field TWO teams! We couldn’t have done it without you! 🖤💙

💚Rampage: Competed in Division 4 with a NEW team PB of 16.543!!!!! These dogs raced against some of the fastest teams they’ve faced, and when they put it all together, it was BEAUTIFUL to watch. So much growth and so much potential!

💙Frenzy: TEAM DEBUT!! 🎉 A new PB of 20.000 and some superrrrr clean runs! We competed as a pickup team, so we weren’t eligible for awards, but by our calculations, we would have finished SECOND in our division! Not a bad way to kick things off!

📣💥Addie: 100% errorless AND a new PB! What a weekend for this girl!

🤯🏃‍♀️Artie: TEAM DEBUTTTTTTT!! 🎉🎉🎉 Our friends who get it, GET IT. This has been a long time coming for this girl, and we could not be more proud of her. ❤️

👻🌪️Banshee: WAS. ON. FIRE. 🔥 She looked incredible and gave us 100% every time she stepped on the lane! Also, anyone who is making salmon for their dog at 10 on a Friday night deserves the “Treat connoisseur” award- we’re glad to see Emily’s dedication recognized 😆

🦄🪄Magic: Full runs in warmups ALL weekend, looking fantastic. Mature, focused, and giving us a glimpse of what next year will look like 🔥

🥹🫐Niko: Grew his sea legs! Not a single jump bit the dust all weekend. Look at you go, buddy! He handled his first champs like, well, a champ and we are so proud!

😴🐆Nimbus: Almost flawless all weekend, with good times and just one miss. Our veteran boy was the glue that kept us all together and was happy to jump in wherever he was needed!

🤏☄️Orbit: consistently triggered his box this weekend (a big feet for such a tiny guy!) and fed off the energy in the room! He was feeling great and looking even better.

😈🙊Ridge: named ROOKIE OF THE YEAR!! 🏆 And for VERY good reason. This girl handled the pressure, fought through her demons, and showed everyone what she’s capable of. Her future is SO bright, and we can’t wait to see what comes next!

💅👑River: Helped set that new team PB after her hiatus this season! Not only that, but her weekend was also 100% clean 🔥🔥

And of course, we loved getting to watch so many of our friends on other teams race this weekend. What an electric, exciting environment to be part of! Huge congratulations to our friends at Prime Time on their stellar Division 1 win yesterday! 🎉

This was our first real year competing as a team, and look how far we’ve already come!! We’ve got so much to be proud of and so much potential ahead of us. The sky is the limit from here! 🚀

Safe travels home, everyone! We’re exhausted, we’re proud, and we’re already excited for what’s next. 💚💙

Fam.

I have an apology to make.

It has come to my attention that in all the Champs excitement, I FORGOT to post Magic’s birthday 😩😩

Magic turned two yesterday and is absolutely on fire. This girl’s future is SO bright and we are beyond lucky to have her on our team. Happy belated birthday, perfect girl!

First race ready!

IT's CHAMPS EVE!!!!!

We're all traveling to the air bnb tonight and are so excited to get up and race tomorrow! It'll be a jam packed day but we'll keep you updated often!

Now, let's meet our last three dogs!

First up, Niko! Niko will be running in 3rd with Rampage this weekend! This is his first season running and he has been absolutely crushing it! He's going to be a rockstar this weekend, we just know it!

Second is ADDIE!! This little spitfire may look small and cute, but she is an absolute unit. She brings consistency and energy that our Frenzy team thrives on! This is Addie's first year competing too and we know she'll be ah-may-zing!

Last but not least, Artemis! Artie will be in the warm-up spot for Rampage this weekend and we know she'll bring the party! She is SO close to racing we can taste it! Next season, Artie!!

That's a wrap! We'll see everyone bright and early tomorrow morning and can't wait to celebrate an amazing season with our friends from all across the country. Good luck and have fun this weekend, everyone!

Home safe and sound from another thrilling tournament weekend at the Skidmarkz Summer Sizzle 🎾💥

This weekend marked our first NAFA tournament as a team and we’re walking away so proud!

For many of our dogs (and people!), this was their first experience racing in a two-ring tournament environment. It was loud, chaotic, and full of distractions- and they all rose to the occasion! We had a few kinks to work through (thats what first experiences are for, right?!), but every dog gave us multiple clean, polished, runs that showed us exactly what they’re capable of.

A few highlights:
😈🙊Ridge owned the start position all weekend…once she finished taming her inner demons of course 😉 This girl is incredible and brings her A-game each time she goes out!

👻🌪️Banshee absolutely CRUSHED IT this weekend!! She ran IN HER BAD LANE, IN A TOURNAMENT ENVIRONMENT for the first time, keeping things sooo clean, even with all the chaos of the two-ring circus. She is an absolute legend and we’re so proud!!

📣💥 Addie was our ever steady Eddie, delivering clean runs all weekend long and jumping in mid-race without a warm-up when the occasion called. She is so reliable- way to crush it, Addie Baddie!!

🥹🫐Niko debuted on a 4x4 last tournament and then jumped straight into the chaos of a two ring environment this tournament! He was so focused and after working through a couple of early kinks, he settled in and ran clean the rest of the weekend. We couldn’t be happier with his progress- he’s absolutely crushing it!!

🦄🪄Magic and Artie stepped into the 7th dog role and absolutely rocked it. They made some AMAZING choices and handled the two-ring environment like seasoned pros.

✨ Our dogs were FIRED UP and several were flirting with new personal bests- we can’t wait to see those times continue to fall!

👩‍✈️💅 also a shoutout to Alena and Caitlin for killing it as our temporary co-captains this weekend! We know we’re not easy to manage- thanks for keeping us on track!!

Saturday night was just as much fun as the racing. Our babies got to play on the mats and soak in the environment without the pressure of competition- thank you so much, Skidz, for making that happen (also your photo booth was absolutely ADORABLE 📸❤️).

And then there was Saturday night for the humans 😬🤭

What was supposed to be a simple post-tournament dinner turned into one of those nights that will become team lore. Think: a drunk teenager asking for life advice through tears (while hugging Emily), an infant insisting upon Jayne and Brett taking his chicken tender, and sudden music loud enough that we’re surprised our friends in KC couldn’t hear it 😆😆 It was a little overwhelming in the moment, but also somehow totally on brand for this team 😅

The weekend ended with one more reminder of why we’re so grateful for this group. On the drive home, Jess and Alena popped a tire on the Rush Mobile, and our teammates immediately jumped in to make sure they got home safely. Flyball is about so much more than racing. It’s about showing up for each other- whether that’s in the lanes, at dinner, or stranded on the side of the road and this tournament was an example of our team coming together for all of the above ❤️

Our first NAFA tournament was definitely a first- it was exciting, crazy, so fun and also helped show us just what this team is made of. Every dog stepped up, every handler learned something, and every race brought us a little closer to that polished team we’ve been chasing through all of our training.

We’re so lucky to have this team, these dogs, and these people. Here’s to many more wild weekends, a few fewer kinks, and hopefully just as many unforgettable memories. 💙💚🐾

We’ll see you again in August, Amana!
