One of the most common labels given to cats is "aggressive."

A cat hisses. A cat growls. A cat swats.

And suddenly, they're labeled as aggressive.

The problem is that "aggressive" describes how we perceive what the cat did, but not why they did it.

Many cats displaying these behaviors are actually experiencing:
• Fear
• Anxiety
• Pain
• Stress
• Frustration
• Overstimulation

In many cases, these behaviors are communication.

When we label a cat as aggressive, we may stop looking for the underlying cause and start viewing the cat as the problem.

Instead of asking:
"Why is this cat aggressive?"
Try asking:
"What is this cat trying to communicate?"

That simple shift can help us better understand the cat, address their needs, and strengthen our relationship with them.

Hello fellow pet guardians!

I really need your help, and I promise it’s super simple. I just need MORE reviews specifically on my google business page.

(Facebook took away my review options, and I also cannot tag people in bulk now?)

I currently have a total of thirteen ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 star reviews, which is fantastic, but especially in these past 2 years or so I’ve definitely had more than 13 clients. One of the most common reasons I have been told someone chose my business over another one recommended is from reviews and comments they read on social media about myself and my business.
I am an extremely small fish in a HUGE (unregulated) pond.

Your 5 stars along with a honest review of your experience with me training you and your dog, working along side me as a colleague during one of my part time rescue or boarding positions, or if I have done drop ins/ walks or overnight pet sitting visits for your pets can make a massive difference for my small business.

PLEASE & THANK YOU!♥️🐾♥️🐾♥️🐾

In the US alone, around 4.5 million people are bitten by dogs each year.
About 77% of those bites are from known dogs, and around 50% of those bites happen to children.

What can we do to lower these statistics?
⭐ Educate yourself as a pet owner: dog body language, how to interact with known and unknown dogs, learn what appropriate training and socialization looks like, abide by leash and confinement laws, and bring your dog inside when expecting mail/deliveries.

⭐ As a parent: never leave dogs and kids unattended or unsupervised together, teach children how to appropriately interact with dogs, and when to not interact with dogs, and utilize management as a safety measure.

We are celebrating 🐶

A huge thank you to our member Niki French of Pup Talk for creating awareness and doing a take over week for us in our group!

This is what Niki has to say:

And it’s not really about skipping a walk.

It’s about asking a different question:

“Is what we’re recommending right now actually helping the dog in front of us?”

Because for many of the dogs we work with – especially those who are anxious, overwhelmed or reactive – daily walks can add pressure rather than relieve it.

And alongside that, we’re often supporting people through a big shift.

Guilt.
Self-doubt.
Worry about what others think.
Feeling like they’re getting it wrong.

We hear it all the time:

“You’ve got to walk your dog.”
“They need the exercise.”
“They’ll get used to it.”

And that pressure doesn’t just come from outside… it often shows up in families too.

So a big part of our role isn’t just helping behaviour to change.

It’s helping people feel confident doing something different.

Sometimes, that means giving permission to step back.

To create space. To lower expectations. To do less – but with more intention.

That might look like suggesting:

🧡 A calm day at home
🧡 Scentwork or gentle enrichment
🧡 ACE Free Work
🧡 Simple training or connection time
🧡 Or proper rest

Not as a last resort… but as a thoughtful, appropriate plan.

This isn’t about never walking dogs. It’s about recognising that one size doesn’t fit all.

And supporting both dogs and their people in a way that actually works for them.

I’d love to hear from you – have you supported a client through reducing or pausing walks?

What helped them feel confident enough to make that change?

If you’re sharing the message with your audience today, I’d love you to join in. Tag me in and I'll share it on.
