I decided to get a head start and put collars on Storm's puppies this morning. Normally, I'd wait till after their first bath and vet visit, but this time I figured, why wait? It's way easier to keep track of which pup is which when talking to potential new owners. But, because puppies are tiny tornados, two collars are already kaput. Fingers crossed Amazon delivers some replacements pronto.

Breakfast is served. Storm's puppies have reached five weeks of age today, with a noticeable decrease in nursing as the weaning process commences. Timber's Tots are experiencing rapid growth. This week marked the opening of their eyes, and increased mobility is anticipated in the coming week.

Storm's puppies are growing up. They're still chomping at the bit for dinner time. We're doing puppy musical chairs to make sure no one goes hungry.

Storm's litter is growing more each day. They are 4 weeks old now and we had a little photo shoot. The puppies were definitely not fans of the camera.
This week, we had to make the walls of the whelping box a bit taller. Everyone was climbing out. But, they couldn't get back in. 😂
That caused some anxiety for Storm. The taller walls should help eliminate that worry for a couple days. ;)
They are still eating softened puppy food once a day.
I am sure Storm will begin weaning in the coming week or 2.
