We have to take a moment to send some love and appreciation to this sweet girl! Cleo, a German Shepherd owned by one of our technicians, has saved two dogs’ lives in just 2 months by donating blood. Cleo hops on the table and sits patiently while we draw a very large (but safe) volume of blood with zero sedation necessary. She is always rewarded with canned food and lots of pets for her service.
In her first few years of life, Cleo struggled severely with what we now know was a serious food allergy to chicken. She almost didn’t survive past the age of 3 years old because she was so skinny from her body being unable to absorb anything she took in. Since figuring out her condition- Cleo doubled in size and is now able to save lives! The epitome of a “good girl”!
