Hello everyone. Brookfield hopes everyone is hanging in there. Just when we thought it might get easier, our world becomes more challenging still. As many of you know our plans several weeks ago were to return to some normalcy after the 4th. The last 2 weeks has definitely weighed heavily on our decision. We now feel opening the clinic now would be a bad decision that could certainly jeopardize all our efforts over the last few months. We would deeply regret any exposure that we caused among our clients while waiting in the lobby or doing business at the front desk. As busy as we have been I don't see how we would practice social distancing in the lobby. The lobby simply isn't big enough. To open the door and try to regulate how many come thru it would be close to impossible. As well, requiring masks certainly has its problems. We therefore will continue curb-side service as we have been doing. I would like to emphasize our gratitude toward our clients for accepting our protocol and entrusting us to bring their babies in alone. I know that has been difficult for many and we appreciate the trust this requires. We will continue as long as we possibly can and are proud to have kept our doors open.
Lastly but certainly critically, we must acknowledge our staff. All 4 have been absolute troopers through it all. They continue to be dedicated to the care of our patients every day and have been crucial to our mission of remaining safely available. They have fetched patients for us carside, truck side, from trunkside-yes really, thru windows and from hatches. In rain, wind, lightening, and in the heat. They are careful not to drop, frighten, or let go, as loosing a patient in the parking lot has been a huge fear of theirs! They have endured some folks' complaints thru all this and have taken great care to explain our methods over and over and over. They multitask all day and manage to answer the neverending phone all at the same time. We've all learned to walk in each other's shoes and learned what each has to endure in our individual jobs. So please, the next time you have an opportunity to talk to or see them please be kind and patient. Tell them thank you---on their doctor's behalf as well. There have been some quite difficult days and they always come back the next day, thank goodness!
Safety and good health to all!
