Every time I come to Hatch, my love for this place grows deeper. This trip especially reminded me why. Everywhere I turned, people couldn’t stop talking about the farm family we buy our Hatch Chiles from, how well they treat their workers, how they go above and beyond to make sure everyone is cared for. That kind of respect and heart is rare, and it shines through in every chile that leaves their fields.

What’s also incredible is seeing how this entire town revolves around Hatch Chiles. Everyone here has their hands in growing, picking, roasting, or selling them, it’s not just food, it’s a way of life. Hatch Chiles have changed not only our lives but theirs too, weaving this community together with flavor, tradition, and pride.

I know one day, if there ever comes a time when I can’t make these trips anymore, I’ll miss them with all my soul. For now, I’ll keep soaking up every mile of the drive, every handshake, every chile-filled story, and every bit of the magic that only Hatch can give.

Good morning from Ruidoso, I’ve been playing around with ChatGPT this morning.
I asked it to recreate the picture as an animation.
I think it did it a pretty good job.
We are on our way to Hatch now while the guys there are busy picking fresh chiles to fill our order.

Our pumpkins are almost ready to start picking. Some of the smaller ones have already been picked. Having smaller fruits, these plants tend to finish sooner than the larger ones. It’s the same reason cherry tomatoes ripen before the slicers. The sad thing about a pumpkin patch is the pumpkins don’t start looking good until the plants have started dying back.
It’s natures process.
The plants look beautiful, strong and vibrant before they bear fruits. By the time the fruits mature the plants will have all but died.

I met The parrot guy at OKC Farmers Public Market this summer. He mentioned his parrots like jalapeño’s, so of course they get pepper treats now. Here’s a little video of them enjoying their snacks.
