Today is a beautiful day to stop by the farm.

Michael and I started the morning with coffee around a bonfire. One thing we’ve made a priority this year is doing something enjoyable every single day. At 43, we’re realizing more and more what a gift each day really is.

We aren’t rich enough to travel whenever we want or live in a big fancy house, but what we do have is this farm, and it feels like a gift every day.

What many people don’t know is that we moved into our farm store out of necessity and made the choice to embrace a smaller, simpler life. It has been a much bigger adjustment than we ever imagined, but also a lot easier in many ways than we expected. Living with less has taught us to appreciate more.

One of my favorite mindset shifts has been pretending I’m camping every day. It’sso much fun! Instead of focusing on what I don’t have, I’ve been focusing on the things that bring me joy. I’ve been intentionally bringing more whimsy, wonder, and gratitude back into my life because I’ve decided that my happiness isn’t going to depend on my circumstances.

Right now, I’m building a whimsical walking trail on the back acre of the farm, a place to wander, think, dream, and enjoy the beauty around us. I imagine wildflowers, little surprises along the path, and plenty of reasons to slow down and notice the world.

Would anyone be interested in joining me for a walk sometime? I’d love the company.

In the meantime, if you’re looking for a peaceful place to spend part of your day, come see us at the farm. The flowers are blooming, the vegetables are growing, and there’s always a little bit of magic waiting here under the Oklahoma sky. 🌻✨ When you arrive at Ruzycki Farms, 10200 N. Choctaw Rd. Jones, OK 73049, give us a call at 405-802-4401. Chances are we’re out in the gardens, fields, flower patches, or somewhere around the farm, and we’ll be happy to come greet you. 🌻💚

🚚 HATCHLAHOMA 2026 IS HERE! 🚚🌶️

For the 8th year, Michael and I are loading up the box truck and heading west to Hatch, New Mexico, the Chile Capital of the World.

Every summer, we make the trip so Oklahoma families can enjoy authentic Hatch chiles fresh from the Hatch Valley. Some people buy a few pounds to try. Others fill an entire freezer. Either way, Hatch season only comes once a year.

This year, things are a little different.

The cost of chiles, fuel, lodging, and transportation has increased significantly. Because of that, we’re only bringing what is pre-ordered.

🚨 ALL ORDERS MUST BE PRE-ORDERED BY JULY 15, 2026. 🚨

No guessing.
No truckloads sitting around.
No hoping we brought enough.

Just reserve what you want and pick it up at the farm.

🔥 WHY CHOOSE ROASTED?

Roasted Hatch chiles are ready for peeling, freezing, and cooking. During roasting, peppers lose moisture and weight, but gain the rich smoky flavor Hatch chiles are famous for.

Let us do the work so you can enjoy the reward.

We discovered one of Oklahoma’s most fascinating wildflowers blooming at the farm today, a native Passionflower, also known as a Maypop.

Just look at that flower! It almost doesn’t seem real. With its intricate purple petals and wild, curly filaments, it’s one of nature’s masterpieces.

Passionflowers aren’t just beautiful. They’re an important host plant for several butterfly species, including Gulf Fritillary butterflies. That means these vines help feed caterpillars and support local pollinators.

Later in the season, this flower will produce a fruit called a maypop. If you’ve never heard one “pop” when stepped on, you’re missing out on a true Oklahoma childhood experience.

One of our favorite parts of farming is discovering that even after 19 seasons, nature still finds ways to surprise us.

Have you ever seen a passionflower growing wild?

☀️🌻 HAPPY SUMMER SOLSTICE 🌻☀️

Today is the longest day of the year.

A day to celebrate sunshine, growth, abundance, and all the little things that make summer magical.

Here on the farm, the flowers are blooming, the tomatoes are growing, the pollinators are busy, and before we know it, we’ll be loading up the box truck and heading west for Hatchlahoma 2026.

It’s hard to believe we’re already here.

Every season starts with tiny seeds, big dreams, and a lot of hope. Then suddenly you’re harvesting vegetables, cutting bouquets, watching fireflies dance across the garden, and planning a trip to New Mexico for Hatch chiles.

The Summer Solstice reminds us to slow down and enjoy it.

☀️ The sunsets.

🌻 The gardens.

👢 The muddy boots.

🐝 The pollinators.

💐 The fresh-cut flowers.

🌱 The abundance of summer.

And yes…

🌶️ The Hatch chiles that will soon be making their way from New Mexico to Oklahoma.

May your garden thrive, your freezer stay full, and your summer be filled with sunshine, good food, and people you love.

From our little farm to wherever you’re spending the longest day of the year…

Happy Summer Solstice. ☀️❤️

🌶️ WHAT MAKES HATCH CHILES SO SPECIAL? 🌶️

A lot of people think Hatch is a type of pepper.

It’s actually a place.

Hatch, New Mexico is a small farming community in the Rio Grande Valley known as the Chile Capital of the World.

The combination of rich soil, warm sunny days, cool nights, and generations of farming experience creates a flavor that’s difficult to find anywhere else.

That’s why people all over the country wait for Hatch chile season every year.

Unlike peppers grown primarily for heat, Hatch chiles are famous for their flavor.

They’re rich.

They’re earthy.

And when roasted, they develop the smoky flavor people become obsessed with.

One of the best things about Hatch chiles is that they freeze beautifully.

Many families buy once a year, roast them, portion them into freezer bags, and enjoy them all year long.

That’s exactly why Michael and I make the trip to New Mexico every summer.

This year will be our 8th Hatch season and our annual Hatchlahoma event.

🚨 IMPORTANT 🚨

🐢🚨 TURTLE JAIL UPDATE 🚨🐢

After multiple reports of unauthorized tomato consumption, several suspects were apprehended inside the garden this morning.

The court convened immediately. Michael and I served as judge and jury.

Verdict: GUILTY AS CHARGED. 🍅⚖️

The offenders have been sentenced to a short stay in Turtle Jail, where they are currently enjoying the very tomatoes they were caught stealing. We believe in rehabilitation, not punishment. 😂

Don’t worry, these little criminals will be released later today. Until then, they’re living their best lives with a full buffet and zero regrets.

The good news? We still have plenty of tomatoes for the humans!
