Jana has helped many people with obedience training and canine behavior problems. Jana has titled multiple dogs in IGP and has shown her dogs for their breed surveys and conformation ratings at Regional and National Level dog shows. Jana is a certified dog trainer and groomer with more than 14 years of practical hands-on experience. Jana is a member in good standing with The United Schutzhund Clubs of America and the German Shepherd Dog Club of America.

We’re finishing our 7-day challenge with Zesty working on the send out with down — the final exercise in the IGP obedience routine. 🐕‍🦺🔥

Send out with purpose, then down on command.

These seven days were just a little glimpse into the training, repetition, and teamwork that go into preparing for IGP2.

Now it’s time to put all the pieces together. 💪

🔥 7 DAYS WITH ZESTY — ROAD TO IGP2 🔥

🐾 DAY 6/7 — RETRIEVE OVER THE A-FRAME

Another day, another piece of our IGP2 obedience preparation. 💪

Today Zesty is working on the dumbbell retrieve over the A-frame. 🐕‍🦺🔥

Over the A-frame, retrieve the dumbbell, back over, and return to me.

It’s been fun sharing a little bit of our training each day and showing the work that goes into getting ready for IGP2. ❤️

One more day to go! 🏆

🐾 Jade did wonderfully at Tractor Supply today! ❤️

Whenever we get the chance, we practice her WAIT command before going through doors. She waits nicely, watches for permission, and then gets her release command — FREE! 🐕‍🦺👏

Of course, sometimes Jade has to wait just a few extra seconds while the trainer figures out which door is actually going to open. 😂🚪

Good girl, Jade — patience is part of the training too! ❤️🐾

🐾 JADE — JUST OVER 7 MONTHS OLD 🐾

Another really good training session with Jade at Home Depot today! 💪🐕‍🦺

In this video, I put Jade in a DOWN, then stepped away about 20–30 feet. She stayed exactly where I left her. 👏❤️

But what I really wanted to show in this video is something just as important as teaching the command itself — the release command.

Jade understands that DOWN means DOWN until she hears “FREE.”

✨ DOWN = hold the position
✨ FREE = the command is finished

A dog shouldn’t decide when the command is over. Having a clear release word teaches the dog exactly when they are allowed to break the position.

At just a little over 7 months old, Jade is doing a beautiful job understanding both the command and the release. ❤️🐾
