CELEBRATING 30 YEARS as a licensed veterinary nurse.
Reaching 30 years as a licensed veterinary nurse is a milestone filled with gratitude, reflection, and pride. Over these three decades, I have been privileged to serve in nearly every corner of veterinary medicine—from private practice and emergency critical care to specialty clinics, zoos, wildlife, large animal farms, avian and exotic care, pharmaceutical industries, bio research, and academia. (Marine life remains the one frontier I haven’t braved—its mysteries still inspire a healthy respect and a bit of fear!)
Throughout my journey, I’ve embraced diverse roles including practice manager, supervisor, and director, each shaping my perspective and deepening my commitment to animal care.
My work has been recognized through publications in both peer-reviewed and general journals, and I’ve been honored to be featured for pioneering behavioral enhancements and improving quality of life for countless animals—sometimes challenging long-standing norms and advocating fiercely for better standards alongside animal welfare committees.
Presenting at national and international conferences, participating in poster competitions, and guest lecturing across the USA have allowed me to share knowledge and learn from an incredible community of veterinary professionals. Consulting on critical thinking, nutrition, hospice, elder care, and alternative treatments has been deeply rewarding, especially when supporting pet families during their most vulnerable moments.
I’ve had the profound honor of standing alongside many in times of need and at the end of life for their beloved companions—moments that remind me daily why this work matters. Being welcomed by organizations like Petzlife and Muffin’s Halo for Blind Dogs at conferences has enriched this journey even more.
In return, the kindness and generosity shown to my family during our own difficult times will forever hold a special place in my heart. Your support fuels our ongoing mission to share vital updates on medications, recalls, vaccines, alternative treatments, and nutrition with our community.
After caring for thousands of animals over 30 years, I can say without hesitation this has been a career well spent—filled with purpose, challenges, growth, and immeasurable joy. No regrets, only gratitude.
Thank you to all our wonderful followers for allowing me to share this journey with you. Here’s to 30 years of compassion, dedication, and the incredible bond we share with our animal companions.
