I know y’all are probably tired of seeing all the jumping pictures, but we needed to get a few more for something I have planned!😉Today was our last day playing around with jumps for a while!

A BIG thank you to Lyndsie Warner for jumping JJ one last time so I could get some pictures! She sure makes him look FANCY!

Now that our jumping adventures are wrapped up for a while, it’s time to switch gears! JJ will be getting his slide plates back on next week before heading off to roping school to spend some time in the roping pen before breeding season kicks off! 🤠

I can’t wait to share that with y’all, because as it turns out, he’s pretty darn good at that, too!! I have SO many things I want to accomplish with this horse, and showing off his versatility is definitely at the top of that list!

Gunner Boy Jr stepped into a completely different world at Silver Spurs Riders Club for his very first English show, and I honestly couldn’t be more pleased with him!❤️

He’s only worn an English saddle THREE times in his entire life, yet we decided to take him to a show and see what he could do!

I showed him in his flat classes, but I want to give a BIG thank you to Lyndsie Warner for stepping in and riding him in his jumping classes! She had never ridden JJ before, he came straight off the trailer, she got one quick ride to get acquainted with him, and then off to the show pen they went! They did absolutely beautiful together and even brought home some ribbons! I couldn’t be happier with how they handled it, especially considering neither one had much time to prepare!

We finished the day with:

The ribbons are exciting, but what means the most to me is the horse underneath the saddle…. A stallion that can walk into an unfamiliar environment, take on a completely new job, a rider who’s never been on him before, and take it all in stride without making a fuss about any of it! And let’s not forget the weather decided to drop 40 degrees overnight!🤣

I’ve always believed a truly good horse shouldn’t be limited to just one discipline. While reining will always be JJ’s main job, I love having him step outside of that world and showing just how much more he has to offer!

I don’t take him out to try new things because I expect him to be the best at everything we do. I do it because I want people to see the kind of mind this stallion has and just how willing he is to give absolutely anything a try, without batting an eye!

At the end of the day, that’s exactly the kind of mind I hope he passes on to his babies. A horse that’s willing, forgiving, levelheaded, and happy to go to work, no matter what job you put in front of him. Cannot wait to see his first babies hit the ground in March 2027!😎

You can breed for a lot of things, but a mind like that is worth its weight in gold! ❤️

❄️ Who needs snow when you’ve got arena sand?! 😂☀️

We live in Louisiana, where it’s 90 degrees and it’s almost November… but that doesn’t stop us from having a little winter fun! 🤣

No snow? No problem! All you need is a sled, a little imagination, and a VERY patient stallion who puts up with all of our crazy ideas!!

One thing about JJ, you can always count on him to go along with whatever we come up with! Whether it’s an actual job or doing something completely ridiculous like this just for a good laugh, he takes everything in stride like the gentleman he is!

Gunner Boy Jr — talented enough to compete with the best of them, but gentle enough to make memories like these with my little girl. 🐴❤️

One thing about JJ… point him at something, and he’s going to give it his best try! 🤩

Jumping obviously isn’t his strong suit, but anything you ask of this guy, he’s going to give it his best shot! I’m just trying to show how versatile this stallion can be!

A good horse doesn’t have to be limited to one job. I love a horse that’s willing to step outside his comfort zone, learn something new, and give it his all. To me, that willingness to try is just as important as talent itself!

So anyways…. he may or may not be entered in a jumping class this weekend just for a little fun! 🙈😂

Y’all don’t judge JJ OR me too hard… he’s only ever seen a jump ONE time before, and I haven’t ridden in an English saddle in YEARS! We’re just out here having a little fun and seeing what this guy can do!🙈🤣

After the jumping class this weekend, he’ll be headed to a roping trainer so we can get some videos of him in the roping pen! Super excited for both of these adventures!🤠❤️
