The Jekyll Island Authority’s Georgia Sea Turtle Center is a hospital for sick and injured sea turtles. The Center is open to the general public and offers an interactive exhibit gallery and rehabilitation pavilion with several viewable sea turtle patients. Group rates and tours are available.

During the intake process, our vet staff discovered Misty has a pit tag. This tag was placed in 2024 by the National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science Beaufort Laboratory in North Carolina. Misty's shell wounds are healing well, and our team is closely monitoring her defecations.
