yes, I'm the most expensive driver in the area
Why? because ....
•you're insured to be in my Truck
•when my Truck was sick I still drove y'all in the car I pay to keep on the road
•I pay as soon as mechanic is done and don't need to hold off till I can drum up $
•when you forget an essential I give or sell you what you need to be safe
•there are always drinks and food for bailout people who ran out
•I have full 1st aid kit plus crutches/braces
•I don't charge for bailouts due to injury or illness if I drove you to that hike
•I (begrudgingly) pay taxes
•I don't get sick pay
•I pay medical out of pocket
•I'll still drive in winter when the summer money drivers vanish
•I'll drive at midnight and 2 a.m. and sleep deprivation takes its toll
•not all rides are back to back--
one of the silver boxes contains bedding
•My Time Has Value!
•there are behind scenes costs ($ and time) like frequent maintenance and cleaning
•every ride booked is 10 minutes in your world-- now multiply it by the number of texts I get to see the hours I spend each day
•and (putting on the puffy mitten now), I go above and beyond -- I could've just sent them another driver's number and been done (what I do when hiker booking in advance) but a Wash bailout w a dog I made sure they secured a ride or I'd have extracted myself from where I was and headed down

I was happy to do it, glad they're okay
but that time gets rolled into the cost of doing business, it all does
