Here is a good story for Farriers +& Trimmers:
Now this happen 20+ years a go. A good friend and fellow Farrier related this to me. He had a client that was well to do and had a beautiful barn, soft brick floors, wood panel 6 stalls, wash rack and (believe this) a stall for Vet and Farrier. He gets a call late one night from the lady owner, “You got to get here, my horse's foot (not hoof) is falling off!!!) Him ( what do you mean?) Her (You got get here now, it is falling off!!) He, (okay, be right there) Thinking all this time all kinds of stuff. Did it stick its hoof through something? Well, he gets there, gates are open, very light is on, looking like Christmas. Get to the barn, horse is in cross ties and the lady with wringing hands points to a foot(hoof). Now my friend is looking for blood, a horse in stress and sees none of this. So he picks up the said foot(hoof). Now as we all know that a horse will shed an old frog at times, So he notices a funky big old shedding frog, so he just pulled off. He hears a big thump. The lady thought he pulled the foot(hoof) clean off and fainted!. She was not down very long and as she calmed down and as he explained what the problem had been. She said thanks, put the horse away. He said she must have been so embarrass that she went back to her house “ Dan, it scared the s**t out of me went she fainted”. After that she would not be around when he came to do the horses. He said from th , he later had a good laugh”. That day on she was the best client for years. Ah, the joys of working with knowledgeable horse owners LOL
