Bolt is always smiling. That amazing smile is probably what caught our attention, but to read he was in the shelter for months with a significant injury was heartbreaking. His time was up and we knew if we didn’t get him out, he was going to die there. I can’t tell you how amazing this boy is. He smiles through it all. He is recovering fantasticly and I can’t wait for him to get his staples out on Friday! Some swimming would be ideal for recovery so if you will let him come over and take a dip in your pool before you close it down for the summer, that would be so good for him!!! 😂😂😂

💛🐾 COLBY UPDATE! 🐾💛

Our sweet boy Colby has been chilling at a new foster home for a little bit now, and he’s doing GREAT!

He and resident dog Bailey are becoming quite the pair. Bailey has been showing Colby all the tricks of the trade, and Colby is warming up more and more to everyone in the house.

He walks really well on a leash alongside Bailey, loves having a fur buddy to hang with and play with, and most of all, this sweet boy just loves being with his people.

Now… about the cats. 😂 Much like Bailey, Colby thinks chasing the cats sounds like a GREAT time. They don’t want to hurt them—we think they just really, REALLY want them to join the fun. Apparently the cats did not receive that memo. 😂🐈💨

And would you just LOOK at these two sharing a snack?! 😍 Such a good boy!

Although from the looks of it… you might need a little cheese with that!

Getting Colby into a foster home is giving us the chance to see even more of his personality, and everything we’re learning just confirms what we already knew—this boy is a sweetheart. He loves his people, loves having a dog buddy, and is ready for a family to call his own.

🐾💙 KUZU’S DAY AT THE PARK! 💙🐾

Kuzu had a fantastic time at the park yesterday! This handsome boy loaded up in the car like an absolute champ and was ready to GO!

Once he got there, he enjoyed making laps around the park, sniffing, exploring and checking out ALL THE THINGS! New sights, new smells, new people… there was a whole lot for this boy to take in!

Kuzu is a bit of a leash puller, but that’s something that can absolutely improve with time, consistency and training. Our volunteers also noticed that he didn’t seem particularly treat or praise motivated yesterday. We’ll keep working with him and figuring out what makes this guy tick! Honestly, with all those new sights and smells, he may have just been way too distracted to care about treats. 😂

And based on the pictures afterward, I think this boy was PLUM WORE OUT! 😂💤 He sure looked like he had thoroughly enjoyed every minute of his adventure. Nothing better than a tired, happy dog after a good day out! ❤️

And THAT is exactly why we would love to get Kuzu into a foster home!

Boarding only tells us so much. A foster home gives us the opportunity to really learn who Kuzu is—how he settles, what motivates him, what he enjoys and what kind of family will ultimately be his perfect fit.

And did we mention… HE IS SO HANDSOME?! 😍

A huge THANK YOU to Zeb and Savannah for getting Kuzu out of boarding for a few hours and giving him such a great day! These outings mean so much to our dogs. ❤️🐾

Now let’s get this handsome boy out of boarding for more than just an afternoon!

💜🐾 TIME FOR A LUNA UPDATE! 🐾💜

Ohhhh, this sweet girl is doing FANTASTIC! 😍

Her buddy Bentley is still showing her the ropes and helping her settle into this whole living-the-good-life thing. And when Miss Luna goes out and about now, she even has a fancy new scarf to wear. 💁‍♀️🐾 Because obviously this beautiful girl needed accessories! And the world must know she is available!

Her foster family knew pretty quickly that there was something really special about Luna. ❤️ So they decided to give her a little more freedom and let her have free run of the house while they were gone.

And guess what?!

SHE DID FANTASTIC! 🙌

Not. One. Single. Issue. 👏 No kennel. No destruction. No trouble. Just Luna being the absolutely wonderful girl we knew she was.

Luna does have a little separation anxiety, but her foster family is working with her and helping her understand that when they leave, they ARE coming back. ❤️

And really, can you blame her? This girl has been shuffled around and had her whole world turned upside down. That’s hard on anyone. She just needs some patience, consistency and reassurance that she is safe, she is loved, and she isn’t going to be left behind again. 🥹❤️

At 7 years young, Luna is proving that the seniors really do know how to do it right! She does well with dogs of ALL sizes, does well with cats, loves her people, and is just about as sweet as they come.

Luna has already been through so much. Now she’s showing us exactly what she wants next: a home, a family, a comfy place to sleep and someone to love her forever.

She is BEYOND PERFECT!

While some of the crew headed out on adventures yesterday, Chevy hung back with our awesome volunteers Kurt and Deidre — and don’t worry, this boy had PLENTY of fun! 😂🐾

Chevy is seriously such a sweet, handsome, goofy boy with SO much personality. He’s loving, fun, and just an all-around great guy. You can’t spend time with him and not fall for him!

But you know what would be even better than another day hanging out in the yard?

A HOME. A FOSTER. A FAMILY OF HIS OWN.

Chevy is ready to bust out of boarding and come hang with YOU! He’s ready for couch time, backyard adventures, belly rubs, toys, treats and someone to call his own.

🐾❤️ TODAY OUR VOLUNTEERS TOOK THE DOGS ON A LITTLE JOURNEY! ❤️🐾

And sometimes, a journey doesn’t have to be very far to mean everything to a dog living in boarding.

Today, several of our dogs traded their kennels for a few hours at the park! They walked, explored, sniffed ALL the things, and some even got to go for a swim!

But it was about so much more than just getting out for a couple of hours.

They got to experience a new environment. They met new people. They met kids. They got to walk through the park and simply experience what life outside of boarding feels like.

And maybe most importantly, people got to see them. ❤️

They got to see these amazing dogs walking through the park and learn that they are AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION. Sometimes all it takes is being in the right place at the right time for someone to notice you. Maybe today planted a seed. Maybe someone went home thinking about one of those beautiful faces. 🤞

We are SO incredibly grateful for each and every one of our volunteers who takes time out of their day to show up for these dogs. Whether you walk them, swim with them, play with them, transport them, take pictures, give belly rubs or simply sit beside them and remind them they are loved — YOU make a difference.

For a dog in boarding, a couple of hours outside those walls is a pretty BIG deal. ❤️

Thank you for giving them that today.

It takes a village, and we sure are thankful for ours. 🐾❤️

Now… let’s turn some of those park visitors into FOSTERS AND ADOPTERS! 💙💕🐾💕💙

Look at them coming down the path! It looks like the HUSKIES ARE TAKING OVER!

Zane, Lakota and Ziggy got to enjoy some park time today, and these boys were AWESOME together!

Of course, I think Ziggy was the only one who actually went for a swim! 😂💦 But listen, he’s a BIG boy — he’s gotta cool off! And we already know if there’s water around, Ziggy is probably going to find it!

Three handsome boys, a beautiful day, some Husky shenanigans and some pretty awesome volunteers.

A HUGE thank you to Mike, Dawn and Rebecca for spending their time getting these boys out of boarding and into the park for some fun! We couldn’t do this without our volunteers! 🫶🐾

💦🐾 MEET BERG! 🐾💦

I got to meet Berg for a few minutes today while I was dropping off dogs. I didn’t get nearly enough time with this handsome guy, but he stayed behind and got to hang out and play with volunteers Kurt and Deidre.

And their report?! He’s a GREAT guy! ❤️

But guess what else they learned?!

💦💦 BERG LOVES THE WATER!!! 💦💦

Seriously, what is happening?! 😂 We are collecting water dogs at this point! I’m thinking we’re going to have to plan one BIG pool party for these guys! 🏊‍♂️🐾😂

We’re still getting to know Berg and will continue learning all the things about him as he settles in. But just LOOK at this handsome boy! 😍

One thing we already know for sure — Berg is ready for a HOME!

💙🐾 OH MY GOODNESS… MILO! 🐾💙

I got to meet Milo for a few minutes today in between all the running around, and what a handsome boy! 😍

Milo just arrived last week, so we’re still getting to know him and letting him settle in after quite the journey.

One thing we learned pretty quickly — Milo is NOT a fan of getting into cars. But honestly, after traveling halfway across the world this past week, I’m thinking we can give the guy a little grace on that one! He’s probably thinking, “Nope. I’ve traveled enough, thank you very much.”

But we also learned something VERY important…

💦 MILO LOVES WATER! 💦

And you know how we feel about our water dogs!!! 😍🙌 Give that boy a pool and let him live his best life!

He really is such a handsome guy, and we’re excited to learn more about his personality as he settles in and starts showing us who he is.

For now, Milo, decompress, enjoy that water and know that the long journey is behind you. ❤️
