Do you love animals, enjoy hard work, and thrive in a fast-paced environment? Leashes and Lashes is looking for an energetic, dependable team player to join us as a Groomer’s Assistant!
This is far more than just a grooming position. One minute you might be helping bathe and dry a Saint Bernard, the next you’re assisting clients, answering phones, scheduling appointments, tackling administrative projects, or helping Kaitlyn with day-to-day tasks that keep the business running smoothly. No two days are ever the same!
What You’ll Be Doing:
🐶 Assisting grooming staff with bathing, drying, brushing, and safely handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments
📞 Delivering exceptional customer service by answering phones, assisting clients, and creating a welcoming experience for every pet parent
💻 Scheduling appointments, managing client records, and completing various administrative and front desk responsibilities
🧹 Helping to maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment throughout the grooming salon and daycare facility
📋 Assisting with operational, business, and occasional personal assistant tasks to help keep daily operations running smoothly
❤️ Providing attentive, compassionate care to our furry guests while ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being throughout their visit
👥 Assisting with team leadership and operational responsibilities, with the expectation of helping oversee and direct grooming staff beginning in October as part of our growing management structure
What We’re Looking For:
✔️ 21 years of age or older
✔️ Reliable, hardworking, self-motivated, and capable of working independently without constant supervision
✔️ Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to professionally interact with clients, coworkers, and management
✔️ Able to multitask, stay organized, and perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment
✔️ Comfortable working with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments, including large, strong, and occasionally reactive dogs
✔️ Physically capable of safely handling and restraining dogs weighing 100+ pounds when necessary
✔️ Calm, confident, and professional under pressure, especially when handling challenging situations
✔️ Natural leadership qualities and the ability to help guide, train, and direct team members as our grooming department continues to grow
✔️ Positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to jump in wherever needed
Compensation & Growth Opportunity:
💲 Starting pay is $13.00 per hour during the 90-day probationary period
💲 Pay increases to $15.00 per hour after successful completion of the probationary period
This position offers growth opportunities, including helping oversee and direct grooming staff beginning in October as part of our expanding leadership team.
