We’re so excited to officially welcome Gianna and Maggie to the Duval Pet Spa family! 💕 Thank you for trusting us with your precious pups—we can’t wait to watch your grooming journeys!

✨🎬 A real-life dream came true today… I met a movie star… well… movie star adjacent! 😋🐾

Seriously though, seeing Because of Winn-Dixie as a kid may have been where my deep love for dogs truly began. ❤️🐶 So when I found out I would be grooming my very first Berger Picard—the same breed that portrayed Winn-Dixie in the movie—I couldn’t contain my excitement! 🤩

Meet Captain, the sweetest girl who completely stole my heart. 🥹💕 She came in with some matting that many groomers might have chosen to shave out. After taking the time to carefully assess her coat, I realized most of the tangles were much more manageable than they initially appeared. With patience, the right tools, and a gentle approach, I was able to brush out the majority of them and preserve her beautiful rustic coat. ✨🪮 We did still have to trim away a few tighter mats to keep her comfortable, but it was so rewarding to save as much of her gorgeous coat as possible. 💛✂️

🐑🇫🇷 Berger Picards are one of the oldest French herding breeds and are known for their naturally tousled, rustic-looking coats. While they’re relatively low maintenance compared to some long-coated breeds, regular brushing is still important to prevent matting—especially behind the ears, under the legs, and around the collar.

🌟 Despite their appearance in Because of Winn-Dixie, Berger Picards are still considered one of the rarest dog breeds in the world!

Days like today remind me that this career is about so much more than grooming. 🛁🐾 It’s about earning trust, educating pet parents, preserving healthy coats whenever possible, and sometimes even checking a childhood dream off the bucket list. ❤️✨

Being a small business owner means wearing every hat—groomer, marketer, photographer, social media manager, and sometimes… your own delivery person. ❤️

Today, I’m walking through the beautiful historic Springfield neighborhood in Jacksonville, Florida, surrounded by stunning Victorian homes, lush landscaping, and so much unique character. Every home has its own story, and that’s exactly what I love about small businesses too—no two are ever the same.

Building a dream isn’t always glamorous, but every step, every flyer, and every conversation helps grow something special. Thank you to everyone who supports local businesses. It truly means more than you know. 🫶

Everyone help us welcome Ollie to the Duval Pet Spa family! 🤍🐾

Today was Ollie’s very first professional grooming appointment, and like many puppies, he wasn’t quite sure what to expect. We took everything nice and slow, giving him the patience, kindness, and understanding every nervous pup deserves. Building trust is always our first priority, because a positive first experience sets the foundation for a lifetime of stress-free grooming.

You did such a great job today, Ollie! We can’t wait to watch your confidence grow and see you again in four weeks. 😍✨

This little Prince Charming stole our hearts from the moment he walked through the door. Brave, sweet, and so well-mannered, he handled his first spa day like a true gentleman. We couldn’t have asked for a better first grooming experience!

🐾 Today is Puppy Day at Duval Pet Spa! 🐾

We are so excited to be the first grooming experience for these precious puppies! Starting grooming early is one of the best things you can do to help your puppy become comfortable and confident with the grooming process.

Once your puppy has received their rabies vaccine or their first two rounds of puppy vaccinations, it’s a great time to begin introducing them to professional grooming. For pets that require regular coat maintenance and monthly grooming appointments, early exposure helps create positive associations with grooming from the very beginning.

Puppy visits allow us to gently introduce grooming tools and handling techniques while building trust, confidence, and familiarity in a safe, positive environment. Our goal is to help every puppy grow into a happy, relaxed grooming client for years to come.

At Duval Pet Spa, we are dedicated to creating positive experiences and building lifelong relationships with both our furry guests and their families. We can’t wait to watch these little ones grow! 🐶💕
