📌 Prerequisites:

Dogs must have completed Basic Level 2 at JPH
OR demonstrate a solid understanding of:
• Sit & Down
• Come & Heel
• Wait & Stay
• Beginning distraction training
• Ability to maintain a Sit or Down for up to one minute

🐶 Course Overview:

This course builds on the skills developed in Basic 1 and 2, helping teams increase reliability and confidence through added distance, duration, and distraction challenges.

You'll continue to strengthen core obedience cues while introducing new skills and games to keep your dog focused, engaged, and connected—no matter the environment.

• Extended heeling patterns
• Rear-end awareness drills
• Formal recall foundations
• The “Middle” position
• Focus & engagement games

🔥 Last night’s AKC Rally Intermediate class was an absolute BLAST! 🔥

This course was packed with fun and skill-building exercises designed to challenge both dogs and handlers, including:
🔸 Serpentine weave (once)
🔸 Serpentine weave (twice)
🔸 Figure 8 with distractions
🔸 Figure 8 without distractions
🔸 Spiral with dog on the inside
🔸 Left offset serpentine

Kaitlin and Shazam gave a fantastic demo and really set the tone for the night. It was inspiring to watch their teamwork in action!

Everyone who ran this course brought their A-game. Rally Intermediate is all about precision, connection, and confidence—and it showed. 👏👏👏

Whether you're preparing to enter the ring or just love a new challenge, this kind of course keeps things fun, fresh, and rewarding. We’re so proud of the progress everyone is making!

📢 Important Reminder Regarding Friday Run-throughs

Please note that the Friday run-through session is not intended for handlers or dogs who have not previously trained in AKC Beginner Novice or Novice.

It is not fair to those attending for structured run-throughs to wait while others are being taught step-by-step. These sessions are designed to provide practice for individuals who are already familiar with the exercises and are preparing to compete.

We kindly ask that Friday run-throughs remain reserved for those who have trained at this level or are actively competing, so they can make the most of this focused ring-prep time.

➡️ If you are new to AKC Beginner Novice or Novice and would like to learn more, we will be offering a new class beginning in July, held on Mondays at 6:00 PM. Link for this below.
