These 4 ran away from home in the skid plate of an SUV, and ended up with us this afternoon. They’ll need a foster for about 6 weeks, if any of you lovely people would like to trade sleep for kitten snuggles. They’ll need to be bottle fed and stimulated to relieve themselves for the first few weeks, which we realize is a big ask. No promises on their long-term ease of care, but they readily took bottles on their first feeding with us.

This afternoon, Animal Control received a call for service regarding a puppy that had been found in a dumpster at the corner of Highview and Richmond. Upon arrival, a small black male puppy was found among the trash, and taken back to our shelter for a bath. He’s since been named Oscar the Grouch, for obvious reasons.

Here’s where you all come in-
Oscar didn’t deserve to be thrown out like trash, and somebody out there knows who he belonged to. If anyone has information regarding this incident, please reach out to our office or the Jackson Police Department non-emergency line.

If your lifestyle is equal parts "let's run around the yard" and "let's pass out in a hammock," Flo Milli is officially your soulmate.

At almost 2 years old, this gorgeous bully mix is living her absolute best life. Flo Milli loves literally every human she meets and gets along fantastically with other dogs! When we introduced her to cats, she didn't even bat an eye.

Her schedule of daily priorities includes:

Rambunctious play sessions with her canine besties to burn off some steam.

Lazy, hopeful meanderings toward the kitchen anytime someone opens the fridge door.

Shamelessly soaking up rays in the yard like she is auditioning for a 1992 Baywatch cast spot.

She is fun, hilarious, incredibly affectionate, and ready to bring maximum good energy to her forever home!

🎨 MEET CALLIOPE: THE WHOLE PACKAGE! 🎨

If you’ve been searching for a dog who checks literally every single box on your dream-pup wish list, stop scrolling. Calliope has arrived to ruin all other adoptable dogs for you! (Not really, we have several great ones, but she definitely raises the bar!)

First of all, look at her. She is a stunning blue merle Aussie mix, which means she looks like a high-end masterpiece painted by a very artistic angel. But her inner beauty is where she really shines:

Other Dogs? She loves them. Great with doggy friends of all shapes and sizes.

Kids? Absolute angel. Gentle, patient, and sweet as can be.

Cats? Minded her own business completely. Zero feline drama here!

Basically, Calliope is the holy grail of family dogs. She’s gorgeous, a teenager, sweet, well-mannered, and completely ready to be the star of your household. The only real downside? You're going to get stopped every five feet on your walks by strangers asking where you got your supermodel dog.
