Hey friends we’ve gotten lots of “what’s a guardian home?” Inquires on our sweet little boy. It’s easy peasy! The dog lives with you as your family pet and breeds with me. Males only stay a few days at a time with me. Females stay to deliver and raise their pups (about 8 weeks). You cover regular dog owner expenses. I cover spay/neuter and anything else breeding related as well as the initial upfront cost of the dog and all health testing. That’s it!

Why do we do this? Simply because there’s only so much Dinah to go around. I want every single one of our breeding dogs to be someone’s personal spoiled baby. I’ve seen far too many breeders with 10 plus dogs and while that might work for some it’s not for me. I only keep enough dogs at my house that I can personally love and spoil. Just in case you’re wondering how many dogs we have…4 is our personal limit but we have 5 due to one of our Guardian Homes getting cancer. Eventually this sweet girl (little Rosie) will find her forever people and be fully retired. For now she’s with us though and ANY of our puppies or guardians can always come back to us in case of emergency, health issues, death, etc. We will not turn them away BUT we do interview our guardian homes in such a way that implies and intends lifelong companionship and an “all in” or “ride or die” attitude. Our guardian families become part of our family in a sense and communication, transparency and love is at the heart of all we do. Happy to share experiences with some of our guardian homes if you’d like to hear how they’ve felt about it all.

And that’s it! This little guy is looking for his person, but until the right one comes along I’ll be happy to snuggle him. He’s so sweet, chill, and perfect. 😍
