We are excited to announce that Dr Anderson picked up several of these monitors at the Midwest Vet Conference this past February. They allow Dr Anderson to monitor the patient's when she is out of the office. The monitor alerts if the pets respiratory rate, heart rate or temperature drops or raises. She can also talk to the patients through the monitor. We currently use the monitor on recovering surgery patients and any patient that is receiving hospitalized care. The monitor can be accessed from Dr Anderson's computer or phone.

Every vet knows that feeling—checking on your overnight patient one more time before you leave. Hoping the numbers stay stable. Wishing you had one more set of eyes on them.

Tip for May: if your cat is drinking less water than usual, try switching from a regular bowl to a shallow, wide dish.

Cats' whiskers are sensitive and some actually avoid deep bowls because of it. Also, wet food can be a great way to boost hydration without them ever touching the water bowl! 💧
