Ipswich Humane Group / Animal Shelter 501(c)(3) non-profit. Open to the public on Sundays from 2-4 pm at 17 Fowlers Lane, Ipswich, MA.

Through volunteer manpower and donations we create a safe, pleasant environment for cats and dogs that come to the Ipswich Animal Shelter. Our weekly Open Houses held Sundays from 2-4 pm at 17 Fowlers Lane are a great way to meet our adoptable pets!

Ok folks, we really need your help! We have a small facility and only a tiny bit of space left for cots and sleeping bags for volunteers. Unfortunately, every time volunteers come in to do their cat care shifts, this is what they see as they try to leave and suddenly discover that they are trapped! Who could possibly walk away from this face, those eyes, the guilt, the heartbreak??? So PLEASE help us find Linus (5 years male) and his bff Lucy (4 years female) their forever home ASAP so our volunteers can go back home to their families!!

Linus and Lucy like other cats, are unknown with dogs, are good with cat savvy kids 14+ (Lucy sometimes gives love nips when overstimulated during petting, so short petting sessions are recommended), both love pets, Lucy is very playful, Linus will follow you around rubbing on your legs, and they both just desperately want their own family to love.

Come visit them today (Saturday 8/2) from 2-4pm during our special one-time Saturday Open House or Sundays from 2-4pm during our regular weekly Open House!

After you visit us at Tractor Supply from 10am-4pm tomorrow, swing by the shelter for our special one-time Saturday Open House from 2pm-4pm to meet and greet our available cats! (Note: We will also have our regular Sunday Open House from 2-4pm)

Linus (5yrs, M) & Lucy (4yrs, F) - Bonded pair to be adopted together, friendly, love pets, Linus will rub and head bonk against your leg to beg for pets once he gets to know you, Lucy loves to play and get pets. Lucy can get overstimulated when being pet and may give love nips, so cat savvy teens 14+ for this duo. Good with other cats, unknown with dogs.

Mama June (5yrs, F) and Dom (5yrs, M) - Coming soon! Bonded pair to be adopted together. This duo needs a little more work on socializing, but Mama June now loves to be petted and will knead and purr like crazy. Dom's favorite volunteer has been slowly working on him by brushing him with a toothbrush and was able to pet him and get him purring for the very first time recently!! We are very proud of their progress so far and can't wait until Dom will allow other people to pet him. They both have dentals scheduled soon that the shelter will pay for. Due to their dental issues, they both only eat wet food. They are good with other cats but prefer a home without dogs. They will likely do best in a quiet home with cat savvy teens 14+ as they are easily startled.

Mitchell (5yrs, M) - Coming soon! Mitchell is still very scared after having to live outside for a while as a stray, but he's slowly making progress and allows one volunteer to pet him a little so far. He's a cute little chatty boy who loves treats and wet food. He strongly prefers a home with another cat, is unknown with dogs and likely will do best with older kids 14+ in a quieter home.

We may also have a few smaller furry mystery guests visiting us as well, so stop by to see who it is at 17 Fowler's Lane, Ipswich, MA!

Volunteer(s) needed! We are hosting a special Open House tomorrow (Sat) from 2-4pm at the shelter to show the cats, and we could really use at least one more person to help greet visitors at the door. Stop by and visit with the Ipswich Humane Group this Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Tractor Supply, 82 Turnpike Road, in Ipswich, MA! We will have a table outside from 10:00-4:00, and look forward to letting people know how they can adopt, foster, or volunteer. There will be a special open house at the Ipswich Animal Shelter, 17 Fowlers Lane, Ipswich, from 2:00 to 4:00 in case anyone wants to visit with our adoptable animals. This open house is in addition to our usual weekly public Sunday open house, 2:00-4:00. See you there!
